I traveled on a Kolkata - Bagdogara flight with my family (wife and 2 kids - 5 and 1.5 years old). When I went to the check in counter, I was told that there are no seats available together. We got 3 different seats - one at the back, one in the centre and one in the front.
The check in counter attendant was busy joking with her colleagues and finally said you need to ask the airline hostess to resolve it. I told the airlines hostess but she did not do anything about it. Can you ask a 5 years old child to sit alone in the plane? Finally, we used only 2 seats in spite of paying for 3 and had to suffer discomfort on having a child sit on the lap for the entire flight. Also, some VIP were travelling in the flight and the staff had clear priorities for them. On my return journey I had a Indigo connecting flight and due to late arrival of jet luggage, checked in only 1 hour before, but they had the entire family together.
My question to Jet:
I booked the flight more than a month in advance. My ticket said a family is travelling, why did they not make arrangement for this? This is basics of any flight seat management system.
When you have a family with 2 small kids travelling, I always had extra help from the flight staff, here they were not even normal responsive. Why so ?
Families, please beware and make sure you do not face such sad experience.
