This is how they operate:
This is to inform you that, I, Saptarshi Biswas, an employee of IBM India, was traveling on 16th Dec 5:15 AM by JetLite S2-3875, PNR HASACF, HDHKKH 2, Jet Airways ( PNR ) with my family from Kolkata to Silchar. There were four tickets but the Jet Airways employees at check in counter issued only three boarding passes. As I and my wife were busy in managing my four years old and as we were confident about the service of the check in employees of Jet Airways we did not count the number of boarding passes. In security counter when the security lady pointed out that the boarding pass for my daughter was not there I went back to check in counter and reported the same then instead of making the boarding pass the lady called “Sweta” ( or Sujata) started to provide a lecture on “responsibility” to me. I told her that I had paid the fare not for her “lecture” but for the ticket and the boarding passes so better not to waste the time as the check in might close at any moment.
Then intervened “Debasish” who introduced himself as the “all in one boss” of Jet Airways Kilkata and told he will not allow us to get the boarding pass for my daughter as it was “too mauch” and “too late”. But still there was time and I asked him to take me to his higher authorities so that I could request them ti help me out. He confirmed that he is the last authority there. But as his behavior was not really like some senior executive I did not believe him. I went to air port manager and asked about the onsite Jet Airways office. The Airport manager and Jet Airways ticketing employees helped me to reach the site manager of Jet Airways. There I described the issue and when they contacted that “Sweta” ( or Sujata) and “Debasish” the air craft has already been left.
So the below things happened:
a) we could not fly on that day.
b) We had to buy fresh tickets for next day (ticket no#s 7052163298404, 7052163298406, 7052163298407, 7052163298408 )which cost ~11, 000 INR.
c) I had to waste the whole day in a Hotel at Dum Dum and pay ~2000 INR for the stay.
I asked for:
a) Reimburse the amount I paid for the new tickets and the amount I paid for my hotel.
b) Please take action on the check-in counter employees “Debashish” and “Sweta” ( or Sujata)
At the earliest.
They ’ll receive notice from my advocate soon about the same.
