I had a miserable experience with jet airways today. my staff and I regularly fly between Chennai - Delhi and Chennai Madurai. I had been informed by my staff on a couple of occassions that the flight is always overbooked in the madurai sector and passengers with OK tickets are denied the flight.
this morning I was a recepient of this treatment. I was the airport on time. I was denied the flight because according to the supervisor, Ms. Saumya, the flight was over booked by 11 passengers. the courtesy with which they treat the passengers who are denied the flight is amazing. we are told after having travelled about 30 kilometres from the city that we have to find our way home because jet airways has over booked the flight. this reflects very very sadly on the airline. All advertisment of being the best in the field remain an advertisment. Jet is no better than a moffusil bus where tickets are over booked. The airline does not eve nmake arrangements for passengers to get back home or to the hotel or give alternatives. This is especially disguisting. the passengers cannot be blamed for the overbooking by the staff.
