Is this called service?

I had taken a flight from Bangalore to Kolkata during November’06 & I was not at all happy with the food served to passengers. I had opted for non-veg meal when the air-hostess came & asked for my preferences. But I was served a veg meal, with reason - ’we are run short of non-veg meals’. Fine, we passenger can go by that. But within a short span I could hear noise allover, that most of the people were served veg meal, including the passenger sitting next to me.


When he questioned on their service, her blunt answer was ’ Sir, we are the only service provider - who gives you such nice food n excellent service’. I mean - we must appreciate her guts. I must mention, this was the time when the Sahara n Jet deal was one of the breaking news. To my surprise, when I started eating - I found the food is completely cold. Got the reply, on asking - due to some technical error they couldn’t keep the food warm.


During the same journey, while returning back from Delhi to Bangalore - I had happen to take the Sahara flight again, as I completed my booking before.


The flight was announced 1 hr delayed initially. After one hour also they didn’t open for security check. There was no updates on the new schedule also. Display board showed same info ( 1 hr delay), no announcement was heard. On being asked - we got the answer ’another 5 mins’ for next 1 hr. Finally we got a call for security check. Happy, I was ... obviously, without knowing the next. Guess what, it was another 40 mins waiting.


After all these, when I had asked for a blanket, as it was a longer journey (via Hyderabad), I was old they are done with blankets n pillows. Excellent isn’t it!!! While going to the rest room I saw hardly 2-3 passengers using the blanket & they are done with the stock??? (My seat was on the 3rd or 4th row from the beginning). I have decided not to travel with Sahara any more & thought of sharing experience with all.
