I just got back from a trip to mumbai on air sahara
now air sahara airlines has a slogan ..if we delay we pay..
unfortunately when I booked my apex ticket 15 days in advance, nobody at sahara bothered to tell me that this scheme was suspended from 15.dec.2002 onwards. the flight to mumbai scheduled at 7.00 am took of at 13:00 hours, I missed my entire appointments in mumbai, they wouldnt pay for my hotel.. it seems that their advance fare scheme doesnt cover all this... I had to stay an extra night at mumbai at my own expense... being an advance booked discounted ticket I couldnt cancel it due to their delay.
it seems that although delhi airport has a functional CAT-3 ILS system for even 50 metre visibility that Saharas planes are so old that they are not equipped or that their pilots arent trained or something.
why doesnt AIR SAHARA rename their slogan as ..
if WE delay YOU MUST pay...
I will willingly provide them a testimonial for this statement.
There is another minus point with Air Sahara, other airlines like Jet and Indian Airlines, call me on the phone to inform me in advance that the flight will be delayed for fog by say 2 hours... Air Sahara being a minor airline with hardly any planes apparently is not able to plan their schedule properly when planes are delayed.
Also I was informed that Jet / IA fly their planes about 10 hrs per day, but sahara planes are flogged for about 15 hours everyday. The only thing good about sahara is their pricing... very cheap... but after experiences like this... as we say....
expensive cries one time ... but cheapness cries every time !!!...
