Air Travel is no more a luxury, with paucity of time and too much to achieve, frequent travellers have even resorted to online ticket booking and using e-tickets. e-tickets are a relief as it gives you freedom from visiting travel agencies. Therefore, enjoying convenience, I booked my tickets to Patna through Sahara’s Own Website. I was confirmed of the booking on email also.
Now, when you are at the airport you expect good treatment, may be not a royal one. But, in your wildest of dreams, You never expect your Airline Carrier saying to you - "Sorry Sir, the tickets that you booked online, with our website is deemed cancelled due to some reason, and you cannot travel with us today". This was at the check-in counter.
When I patiently asked them, how can that happen when I have recieved a confirmation email as well as a message. I even told them, I have a very urgent meeting and I need to go. The on-ground attended replies - "Sorry Sir, this is what it is, you cannot fly. We can’t help it. Please speak to our customer care". After hearing these polite words, I could not be patient with the lady and said - "Hello ! You better not speak to me like that. Please note, I am not travelling for free, I have paid for it.". Then came running a senior member of the team, who till this time was witnessing the proceedings from back. He requested me to wait for 15 - 20 min. After which I finally got my Boarding Pass.
Now on Board, another beauty came by me. (Not talking about the Airhostess), but the service. I was asked, what would I like to have, Veg or Non-veg Food. My choice, Non-veg. Silence, and the "Sorry sir! we cannot serve you non-veg food, will you mind having Veg Food". I had boarded the flight from the originating airport, it was an Airbus, that was to go to Patna, then Lucknow and finally Mumbai. And, they ran out of food, in the first lag itself. ???
Again, after a week, I re-booked the tickets for the same route and luckily, the same thing happened. My booking was considered cancelled and then a long wait and then the boarding pass.
