Recently, on March 17th me and my wife took the air Sahara flight S2 0212 from Bangalore to Mumbai. I had booked my tickets a week back through one of the online booking sites. The flight was scheduled to depart at 0835Hrs and I checked-in at 0745Hrs. At the check-in counter I demanded for a seat near the emergency exit for better leg room. But the seats were not available and I asked the pretty female at the check-in desk to give me some other seats.
The female told me that she has reserved seats at the back for me and my wife. I confirmed if the seats were together and she said a ‘YES’. I trusted her words and didn’t cross check my boarding pass for the seat numbers. The flight was on time and pretty full. I looked up into my boarding passes for the seat numbers after boarding the aircraft, to my surprise mine and my wife’s seats were not together and moreover they were middle seats. I inquired with the flight attendant and complaint regarding the lie I was told at their check in counter. My point here is not that I didnt get to sit besides my wife throughout the journey.
Point is that I was told a lie. The female at the check-in counter could have told me that she can’t provide both the seats together. She didnt have to lie. I was upset about the lie and I did communicate it to the flight attendant. To add to my agony, at Mumbai airport when I collected my baggage, the handle of my suitcase was broken. I tried to find a air Sahara personnel but couldnt find one. Even their counter near the departures was shut.
I must add that the flight attendant were very calm and polite. I have traveled many a times with Sahara and other airlines. I have also had good experiences with Sahara earlier. Flight delays and other minor hiccups are still manageable but lying to the customer is something I can never take. I will definitely think twice before booking a flight with them next time. Thanks for the precious time you gave to read my review.
Regards.
