A trip to jim corbett national park is truly worth every moolah, even though if u dont get to see any tigers. the environment is crystal clear as u approach it thru ramnagar. all the resorts follow inside the sanctuary area. every hotel is worth the penny coz the climate is enticing the year round. the best month to visit is nov onwards in the rainy season where u can even make arrangements for a stay inside the forest thru the dhikuli gate where the govt provides forest houses. we have the shell out for the guides & the binoculars but they r measly fees. a ride on the elephant is strictly RECOMMENDED despite the cost( which is not at all high). u have to carry a lot of luck to see the tiger(S), coz its not often u spot one. but do watch out for wild hens, barking deers, sambals, peacocks dancing & the ruf tuf gypsy ride which is sure to entrall every kid & adult. try to devote a whole roll for the trip coz its worth it. also wtch out for pythons, bunnies etc. the best hotel to stay so far is the claridges corbett hideaway which has excellent facilities, cottages & a swimming pool with a superb scenic location. if u r lucky enough as the evening passses by as u enter the park thru ramnagar, who knows u might bump in to a tiger on the road...or may be a fox!!! just too good is the place...also dont forget to get some souvenirs although they might be priced a but high, but then no where in india u wud get such luvly things like assorted badges, caps & dont forget to get a soft tiger as a memoir(if at all u dont wanna spend much on others.) the best way to reach here is by road or by train from ramnagar which is just 4 kms from corbett park. air travel is not recommended. the stay at claridges was gr88 and making friends with the chief naturalist mr . imran khan was too good as he was our guide and instructor. good information can be got only from the naturalists of each resorts. so be in touch with them.
