Before leaving for Jim Corbett National Park I was quite sceptical of wild life.An area which I had never explored previously in my life.Six hour journey from the capital of the country it is regularly haunted by people from the capital region. With story doing the rounds that it was a land of endangered species and it could be dangerous to be visiting the hotspot of wild life lovers, I had the mixed feeling of fear and adventure.Stay being managed at a resort located near the favourite destination of Indian and foreign travellers, it turned out to be a fun filled visit that has found a place deep down my heart.Nature has its own way of showing its majestic beauty to us in the form of wild life sanctuaries.
The resort was a major attraction of foreign visitors and we could see them fervently enjoying nature walks and ride on the back of tamed elephants and their chief interest being the sight of the tiger
for which everybody waited with bated breath everyday and only a few lucky travelers managed to catch a glimpse of the "Prince of the Jungle".One can even stay in the middle of the jungle in a residential accommodation which is managed by the Govt.
Canters, jeeps and buses used to find their way into the jungles. We set out after 11am and managed a four hour ride into the lanes of the dense forest and praying to God to keep us safe.We were not lucky to witness the presence of the Tiger or elephant but could see an umpteen number of deers, alligators and forest birds.
A famous temple of Girija Devi is located within the range of the wild life area.It is devoted to Goddess Durga. So the fright vanished and pleasure took its place.A must watch for all adventure lovers!!!!!!!!!.
