I request all new people wanting to take any of these connections beware of such people who are working in companies and spoiling their reputation.


Events in Sequence:


5th June 2024


My internet went down at about 3:00 PM


Immediately called up the Jio Call Centre to raise a ticket (Service Request Number – SR000014HF) and requested them to get it fixed quickly. I called 3 times the same day, but got the response that engineers are not available.


When the Service Request was raised got 2 SMS messages:


The 1st message received was @3.28 PM


Dear Customer,


Service request no SR00001YI4HF has been raised in your account. You will receive an update for this request by 06/06/2024 15:28. To track the status of your service requests at your convenience, please visit MyJio App - https://jio.com/track_sr_status


The 2nd message received was @3.31 PM


Dear Customer,


With reference to Service Request number SR00001YI4HF for your JioFiber Service ID connection having JioFixedVoice Number +914035518210, we have scheduled an appointment with a Jio service engineer at your premises on 08-Jun-2024 between 18:00:00 - 19:00:00.

6th June 2024


Called up the Ji0 Call Centre for resolution of my issue and got the same response that engineers are not available.


Then called up a service engineer, Srikanth, Cell Number – 98854 2xxxx, who had earlier fixed an issue. He said he will check and let me know.


After a little while he asked me to send the photo of router. After seeing that he told me that it is an old one and needs to be replaced.


Then he referred me to another person Mr.Yaminraj – Cell Number – 90109 0xxxx. Mr.Raj called me and told that it is not possible to replace the router. He suggested me to cancel the current connection and then take a new connection.


I was in urgent need of internet and agreed. He said he will cancel the existing connection and will get a new one organized and told me to pay Rs.3536/-. Once paid he said he will get the connection done by the same evening.


He told me that he had cancelled the previous connection. But I did not get any notification of the cancellation. He said sometimes it can get delayed and nothing to bother about. Knowing Jio to be such a big organization I left it at that.


I requested him for the refund of Rs.1, 000/- for the cancellation of the old connection and that is what I was promised when this connection was taken about 5 years ago. He said the cancellation will take 2-3 days and the refund will come after that.


Then I made the payment in 2 installments from my GPay account at 2:35 PM. The following are the UPI Transction IDs: 415816375097 for Rs. 3, 000/- and another UPI Transaction Id: 415816351555 for Rs.536/-. I sent him my Aadhar copy via Whatsapp and requested for a speedy connection. He said he will get it done quickly.


Unfortunately, there was rain and they could not do it the same day.


7th June 2024


Meanwhile, I was in touch with Mr.Srikanth and he said that Mr.Raj will surely get it done. I was following with both of these people but nothing was coming forward. At about 12:45 PM Mr.Raj told me that an technician has started and will reach me in short time. I waited for about 30 minutes and called back Mr. Raj. He said the technician had come and checked in the box and there were no slots available. But the technician did not meet me and I am not sure if he really came. Because earlier too, the first time about 5 years ago when I was given a connection the technician came and met me and then checked for slots.


Mr.Raj called me up and said that he was coming and will help me. In my colony I know there are 3-4 poles from where the connections were being given. The one I had earlier was just near my house. Mr.Raj came and checked 2 poles and said that slots were not available. I told him as the old connection was cancelled he could connect from that slot. But he said that the company policy is that once a connection is cancelled, they have to leave the slot for 100 days. It was hard to believe, but I had no option. At this point I requested him to return my money.


Then he said that he will help me get a new connection from Airtel Xstream as he knows some people there. He also called Mr.Srikanth and asked him to connect me with their common friend. Mr.Raj and Mr.Srikanth called their common friend Mr.Vishal and said that he would get me a connection in Airtel. Now I had no option but to agree as Mr.Raj was not returning my money.


The Airtel Xstream person took my Aadhar details from Mr.Raj and booked a connection in my name when Mr.Raj said that he would transfer Rs.3536/- to Mr.Vishal and I would continue getting the same type of broadband and I will not lose anything.


The Airtel Xstream person Mr.Vishal promised me for a connection by the same evening, which didn’t happen. I got the Airtel connection only on 9th June, 2024, Sunday evening. To my shock I found that the account balance was Rs.0 and that I had to pay the amount on the next billing date of 8th July 2024. I found that as my Airtel mobile postpaid phone was over 20 years, they connected it directly without charging any advance money payment.


I called up Mr.Raj but he didn’t take my call.   I then went back to Mr.Srikanth who was not taking my call but he responded on Whatsapp. He assured me that he wiil get my money refunded from Mr.Raj. I followed up with him on the same for 2 days, 8th and 9th June 2024, but nothing happened and when I called him he did not take my call.


I knew that I was cheated by the 3 people involved, 2 from Jio and 1 from Airtel.


I then called the Jio Call Center to find out the status of my services request and again got the message that no engineers were available. The same story like a parrot. I then request them to cancel my connection to refund my Rs.1, 000/- deposit money. Not sure how long they will take to cancel. Though I received a message that my cancellation is in progress and that somebody will call me.


I request all new people wanting to take any of these connections beware of such people who are working in companies and spoiling their reputation.
