I usually dont rant about services, but my experience with Jio Fiber over the past few days has been beyond frustrating, and I feel like I need to share it so others dont go through the same mess.
The Never-Ending Installation Saga
I recently moved into a new flat in Electronic City Phase 1, Bangalore, and requested a Jio Fiber connection on 9th February. The next day, I got a call saying a sales rep would visit for KYC and install the connection the same day.
I received the reps number, and he kept saying "Ill be there in 20 minutes", then "Ill reach in 30 minutes". This went on for hours. Eventually, he stopped responding and just never showed up.
The next day, a different person came, and by 1 PM, the fiber was finally installed. Just when I thought the worst was over, 45 minutes later, the internet went downa red light started blinking, and that was it. I tried calling the installation guy multiple times, but he just ignored my calls.
Customer Supports Broken Promises
I reached out to Jio customer support, and they tried troubleshooting, but nothing worked. They assured me an engineer would visit between 4-5 PM. Surpriseno one came. Then I got another message saying the visit was rescheduled to 7-8 PM. Again, no one showed up. Then, 10-11 PMstill, nothing.
The next morning, another message: "Engineer will visit between 1-2 PM." You can probably guess what happenedno one showed up.
At this point, Id had enough and requested a cancellation. Jio agreed, and they scheduled a pickup for the devices.
On 13th February, I got Airtel broadband installedand let me tell you, it has been working flawlessly from day one. I should have just gone with them from the start.
No Refund & More Drama
On 14th February, I called Jio to ask about my refund. Their response? "Since you have a 3-month plan and no security deposit, we cant refund anything." So basically, once you pay Jio, youre stuck with them.
Since I had already paid, I figured Id at least use the service. I requested to move the ONT device to a different room, and guess what? They scheduled an engineer and once again, he never came.
The Final Straw
On 15th February, an engineer finally arrivedbut instead of doing what I asked, he removed my Airtel connection without permission, cut the wire, and left! I explicitly told him not to touch Airtel, but he still did it. And now, thanks to Jio, Im dealing with two broken internet connections.
Final Thoughts
Jio Fiber has been an absolute nightmare. Their team is unresponsive, untrained, and completely unreliable. And the fact that they have no refund policy makes it even worse.
If youre considering Jio Fiber, please think twice. Airtel saved me from going completely insane, and I highly recommend them instead.
