I am constrained to write the following after one month of the futile chase:
I have ordered for 17 items vide Order ID 16429071910058314A on 23.01.2022 worth Rs. 3835 /- through JioMart mobile app. On 25.01.2022 item was delivered in two small packets excluding 5 items (10Kg India Gate basmati rice, 1Kg Govardhan ghee, 1/2Kg Amul butter, 5+1Liter Saffola Gold oil and 1Kg tomatoes). As per JioMart customer care the policy adopted by them is even though if customer does not share delivery code to the delivery agent, the app will automatically display items delivered. And the complaint for missing items can be registered thereafter.
I am repeatedly registering the complaint wef 25.01.2022 through customer care number, email, JioMart app and through Facebook. The cost of missing items was Rs. 2923/-.
After a lot of effort Rs. 1888/- against four missing items leaving the cost of Saffola Gold oil Rs. 1035/- credited in my SBI credit card account.
Now, for Rs. 1035/- JioMart informed me through email and phone call on 12.02.2022 that amount has been credited in my JioMart wallet. Later on, in their continuation email, I was informed it will take 3-7 working days, as JioMart never transfer money on Saturday, Sunday and holidays. Accordingly, I was advised by the customer care executive that I have to wait till 22.02.2022.
I had no option but to follow the advice. I made a phone call on 22.02.2022 to enquire about the status of refund as money was neither credited in my source account nor in the JioMart wallet.
The customer care executive informed me that there is no such resolution dated 9.02.2022 and or 12.02.2022 regarding the refund of Rs1035/- for missing item Saffola Gold oil and further added that no communication has been made with me either through email or phone calls.
Finding myself cheated I have posted a complaint on JioMart Facebook page in the morning of 22.02.22, but the same was got deleted by the JioMart. At around 10:30 AM the same day a phone call has been received from JioMart Complaint Department. The person who has made call has informed me that by 5:00 pm today ie on 22.02.2022 the refund will be credited to my source account.
At 5:00 PM I again phoned the said person at Complaint Department. He informed me that he has generated the docket on a priority basis and the refund will be appeared in my source account from where I had made the payment, within 24 hours. I waited till 5:00 PM on 23.02.2022 but money has not been credited to my source account.
From the sequence of events which I have undergone during one month and the companys review on website I have come to the conclusion that JioMart has the ambition of expanding its online business. For this, they need money to create infrastructure and to pay salaries to staffs. Without doing economic fraud by cheating customers JioMarts goal cannot be accomplished in this competitive commercial world. The whole management is involved in this.
They have single point agenda to raise money by hook or by crook and they are proceeding towards the goal in a well-planned manner. They think that on the hard-earned money of customers JioMart has the right. That is why they are committing economic fraud by publishing attractive advertisements to lure consumers. But they forget Flipkart and Amazon like commercial companies have transparency in their system, they give quick resolution for any such incidents.
Customer never asks for refund for any missing item, it is credited to the source account without registering a complaint. Whereas in JioMart once the customer caught in their attractive advertisement and made the payment, they block customers money on one or the others pretext by not delivering most of the items and indulge customers in their well-planned system of trapping in the economic fraud.
Through this, I would like to give a message to the JioMart higher management that this economic crime will be surfaced and exposed very soon before the crime agencies and the public.
I have made my mind to file an FIR with Delhi Police Cyber Crime Cell and Consumer Forum for retaining money in a fraudulent manner, if refund of Rs. 1035/- not credited in my source account ie in SBI Credit card account today by 5:00 PM.
