Let me get straight to point. Hrithik is OUTSTANDING in the movie ...his body language and dialogue delivery touches T to his character. ..and I cant think of any other actor for this role.
Aishwarya is average , its just continuation of her guru performance...i was expecting so much from her....but im disappointed now. Its not that she is bad, her character graph doesnt allow her display much histrionics..her character possesses self respect and pride and is hurted when brought in a complete different environment..when married to muslim person..so she just has to sometimes cry and sometimes express her pride and anger..those are very in subdued manner and she gives a pretty restrained performance not going over the top.. ...though this doesnt makes a good performance.
Sonu sood and Nikitin Dheer shows confidence . ila arun and poonam sinha cant act for nuts !!!
Ashutosh Gowarikar is fantastic as director..his direction and vision is splendid and innovative...he understands his craft.....the battle scenes are outstanding..if he somewhere fails is as an screenplay writer...ashutosh is a director who in his movie likes to touch various issues respect to his story..here he touches the ethics as a human being, as a ruler ...so the story jumps into the political conspiracies going on and side by side the blooming love story of jodha-akbar...the love story keeps you glued to the film..but when other things r being talked of u dont care much about it.

MUSIC is well part of the movie barring in lamhon ke daaman ke .
jashn e bahara, mann mohana r background songs
khawja mere khwaja nothing special about song..just in the end hrithik saves it ...the scene actually shows the spiritual side of the king akbar..who gets so much aroused by the sufi song..that even he gets up and dances when deep immersed in his love for god.
marahaba though my favorite number...choreography is average...i was expecting something heavenly.
the main problem for me is the screenplay which jumps here n there..and even sometimes it drags.
the film is well directed by ashutosh and takes u too another era..but cant keep you glued over der...though at every interval the movie offers some exciting scenes.
Could have been a masterpiece..but screenplay ka saath nahiin
