I purchased a jacket of John Player brand on 09 Jan 2014 under the scheme of 40% discount from SHUBH LAKSHYA, Shop no. 118, Ground Floor, Spice World, Plot No. 12 Sector 25A, Noida. The Max. Retail Price of the jacket was INR 4499.00(Inclusive of all taxes). When I decided to purchase the jacket then shop keeper has charge me INR 2834.37. When I asked to shopkeeper that this is not a 40% as discount per the communicated to me when I was making my mind to purchase the same jacket.(Price tag and invoice are attached with this mail).
Now I would like to ask following questions and expect reply from your company before taking this matter to the consumer court or respective court.
If Maximum Retail Price(MRP) INR. 4499/- has included all taxes then why company has charged me again VAT/taxes after the discount?
If VAT/taxes are applicable on discounted price then company has to remove the VAT/taxes component from MRP and then they supposed to give 40% discount and then apply the VAT/ applicable taxes.
I would like to know how a company can impose VAT/ taxes twice on one product. Whereas I believe company will deposit one applicable VAT/taxes to government.
If company is making 4499/- as base price which include the VAT/tax component and then giving 40% discount on it. in that case company is make us fool by showing 40% discount which is not right. actually discount is less then 40%. This is a clear case of cheating according to me. There must be many customers are victims of this kind of unfair business practices.
Why cant this be called as hiding the fact?
I feel cheated in this matter and I would like company to respond on my above questions.
