Bol kya naam he tera ?..... tj naam hai mera, aur favorite movie hai johnny gaddar..... well, yes as u rightly guessed, I am suffering from the johnny.g syndrome....1 full week after seeing this at the local multiplex, the tickets are still lying in the car & in my head, johnny.g is still grinning & asking "kya hua sir ?"
a f1 paced, seat jumping flick, heavily dipped into the 70’s masala syrup. infact 70’s is dripping right from the title artwork to the music to the entire mood of the movie. hats off to mr.raghavan, actually anyone who’s seen his earlier "ek hasina thi" will surely vouch that they were looking out for his possible next movie. actually despite not having any car chases or any major shoot out scenes, the movie still manages to fall into the action-thriller genre simply due to superb script, editing & of course some top class acting.
The story revolves around a small fry, who is one of the members of a gang of 5 smugglers, who also run a gambling den in the guise of a club. this least expected fry, not only betrays them but also takes them out one by one. the most interesting part is that the director each time corners & traps him, johnny being a novice in the trade is the visibly weakest & the bachcha of them all. but johnny.g unwittingly each & every time not only manages to elude them but also when reqd breaks the grip & escapes, & each time u will be made to believe "this is it ! ". but that is the commendable part here, that without involving rajniish histrionics & laws of physics, johnny runs & runs & outruns them all.
All I can say is, move out of the office today 1hr earlier or book tickets for the weekend, pile into your local multiplex, watch it & find out how johnny runs into a dead end of a blind alley. or does he ?
