Suspense thriller with real suspense

The Sunday morning said Good Morning with a dark & gloomy look last morning. And then it poured the entire day as if the shade is broken. With all the ragged look around there was a feeling ‘Oh, I can’t go out today & spend the entire day at home’. After the sumptuous lunch the thought came in my mind is how bout relaxing with a movie & picked up Raghavan’s suspense thriller. I repent – nop, for not picking up this particular movie but for picking the movie so late.

These days, what is missing very much in Hindi movies – is the story line. And the first catch for me in this movie was the brilliant story line. Keeping my senses alive throughout and a conjecture queue on in my mind - working continuously guessing what’s next.  This is not one of those colorful, with hot babes around picture perfect locations and series of tracks on type movie.

Now, me being first time writing on a suspense thriller, I must accept the try ‘not to give the story away’ is a challenge.  With the tightly tied theme [I mean I feel like mentioning about the story line again & again], the director really played well with color and his creativity. I loved [also audience appreciated] director’s previous work like Ek Haseena Thi & Omkara. And this time I must accept Johnny Gaddaar took him one step ahead in his creations.

It is story of a young - Vikram (Neil) who wants to get rich quick and turns Johnny G. G stands for Gaddaar the traitor. His favorite actor is Amitabh Bachchan & he makes-up a similar plot that of AB’s movie Parwana and realizes reality is much different than silver screen.  An irregular trend where the hero turns a loser within a fraction of moment - gives a reality touch.

When it comes to acting, Dharmendra [with due respect], we audience expect more from you rather than listening the song ‘Mera Gora Rang ’ sung by your late-wife in the movie. Neil seems interesting but he is to improve using those attractive eyes to be more expressive. As a new comer taking up such a complicated role – he had done well. Vinay Pathak & Ashwini catches eye with their on-screen presence.

Few ‘Not to miss’ scenes in the movie:

Ø      Hotel receptionist watching the Johnny Mera Naam – prompting our hero to choose a synonym

Ø      Rimi & Neil’s expression in restaurant seeing the inspector

Ø      Shardul’s sudden appearance at Neil’s place

Ø      Rimi’s expression @ Shardul’s office [read seeing the clean room]

Ø      Last scene of the movie

Raghavan, looking forward for such more makings from you!
