Acuvue II - finally something soft and gentle

I have tried the one year lenses from several brands, and the disposable ones as well. And my vote goes to Acuvue II(15 day disposable contacts).

I will list down the points that make these contacts the best available today

  1. The lens is very soft and gentle to the eyes - you will never feel that you are wearing lenses - no irritation at all(in case you have very dry eyes like mine you may want to put a drop of refresh tears eye drops once a day on top of your lenses to refresh your eyes)

  2. The lens has a marking(invisible to others when you wear the lenses) which allows you to clearly check if your lens is turned inside out - this makes wearing the lenses so much simpler

  3. If you don’t wear the lens for too many hours in a day the lens will actually last for about a month(even though it is recommended to throw it away after 15 days, if you maintain the health of the lens by proper cleaning it actually does last about a month)

One pack of contacts(with 3 pairs) costs Rs 950 - if your number has cylindrical power you will need toric lenses which cost Rs 1600 for 3 pairs.

Even though the cost is on the high side, if you compare with other brands you will surely find a difference in the gentleness of the lens. So if you are going to wear your lenses for long hours specially in front of a computer screen then this is a must buy.
