Directed by Subhash Kapoor, Jolly LLB 2 is a black comedy movie and is produced by Fox Star Studios.Released on 10 February 2017, it has collected 180.16 crore till now in box office.Running time of movie is 137 minutes.Budget of movie equals to 30 crores.It’s a sequel to Jolly LLB.
It is a courtroom drama which satirizes the notion of indian legal system.The story follows Jagdishwar Mishra(Kumar), a lawyer who fights a case against the ruthless and powerful lawyer Pramod Mathur(Kapoor).
Plot-Jagdishwar Mishra a.k.a Jolly(Akshay Kumar) is a lucknow based lawyer who works as an assistant(munshi) to one of the most famous lawyers of Lucknow, Rizwi Sahab.He hails from Kanpur.In order to arrange money for his own chamber, Jolly lies to a pregnant lady, Hina(Sayani Gupta) and convinces her to give Rs 2 lakh as fees so that Rizwi would fight her case, Jolly uses this money for payment of his chamber and opens it with a ceremony.When Hina finds out that she has been bluffed by Jolly, she commits suicide.Everybody blames Jolly for her death, including his father who worked for Rizwi for 30 years.Filled with guilt Jolly along with his wife Pushpa(Huma Qureshi) and fellow lawyer Birbal(Rajiv Gupta), decides to fight Hina’s case and files a PIL. He soon discovers that Hina’s husband Iqbal Kasim(Manav Kaul) was killed in a fake encounter by inspector Suryaveer Shingh(Kumud Mishra) on the very next day of their marriage in order to get a promotion.Singh also shot a fellow constable in his thigh in order to show the encounter genuine.The constable later died due to excessive bleeding.Suryaveer Singh then hires the best lawyer in Lucknow Pramod Mathur, his friend, to fight his case.
On the very first date of the case Jolly requests the court for an impartial enquiry into the case once again.However court grts adjourned.Jolly then investigates the case with the help of a bookie Guru ji.However during the court hearing, under a heated argument Jolly slaps advocaye Mathur.Court orders a narco test of Ram Kumar.
Jolly was attacked by two henchmen sent by inspector Singh but survives the attack.However, singh was suspended from police department.After all investigation and struggle faced by Jolly at last he wins the case by cross questioning the Pandit.The pandit finally breaks up and accepts his crime.The judge then declares Iqbal Qasim innocent and orders tge arrest of the terrorist, bails Ram Kumar, son of the Constable and gives life imprisonment to Singh and thus Jolly wins the case.
In my opinion it’s a must o watch movie and gives the true image of Indian Judicial System and Problems faced by it.
