Joy there been received very positively by the American critics. In fact, except for the performance of Jennifer Lawrence , the film has not been another Oscar Award , and has received even less mentions by other industry organizations. And to some extent I understand why, Joy is a film that tries to do many things, and does not do them all equally well: it has a motivating story presents a family drama portrays the warm relationship between a grandmother and her granddaughter, and even develops the context in which an enterprising woman was during the early’90s.
However, despite having a script that does not seem to decide on any of these little stories, Joy works. Although not perfectly; many of the secondary characters are caricatures, some relationships are underdeveloped, and some scenes, especially the late- not totally convinced, but overall this is a very well acted, constantly inspiring and entertaining film .
