I would like to share my experience with Jubiliant-Nissan Car dealership in Chennai. I do not know how the dealers are picked by Nissan But I wish they would teach them some customer service before they give them the franchise. We had decided that we were going to buy a Nissan Sunny car, we visited the show room in Velachery, Chennai but we were directed to Jubiliant - Nissan. (so Jubiliant Nissan seems to have a monopoly in Chennai, hence may be the attitude)
We went there on Feb 10th 2012 and paid a token advance for Nissan sunny XL 2012 Blue model.
The salesperson took his own time to come back and tell us that both silver and blue were not available, although when we paid the advance we were assured that the car and the model requested was available! So he told us to wait, again he came back and asked us to take a different color and different model, we said no and we said we want the advance back. Then he came back and said that we can get what we want if we wait for some more days, so we did!
Next thing he comes home takes the cheque from us for the balance amount of the car on the pretext that the car is ready. And next day he calls and says that the car is not there, so we tell him not to deposit the cheque. Two days later we get a call form the bank saying that the Nissan cheque was sent back for lack of funds.
They deposited the cheque without informing us!
Finally after sorting out all the mess, we go ahead (need to have our heads examined) and settle for Nissan sunny 2011 XV model, because the sales person agrees to give us some discount and freebies and some accessories!
Finally we drive out on March 23rd in the new car. (definitely not our 1st choice). The sales person assures us that within two days he will come home deliver the final invoice and other papers plus the body cover for the car. The assured date is Mar 25th!
Until today he has not turned up, we have called him up constantly and initially he picked up our calls and assured us that he would come in a day or two, but off late he does not even return our calls, escalating the issue to his peers seems to have no effect. No one in the dealership really cares for the customer once the car is sold. We were supposed to go there and pick it up, the sales person very smartly told us not to come as he was on the way! And we believed him!
Bottom line: I am fed up with attitude of these people, I have called and explained the problem to different people, but seem to have no effect they are too thick skinned! Have written to Nissan Customer service, hope some action will be taken, beware of this attitude if you planning to buy a CAAAAAR!
