If serenity were a place it would be something like K Gudi, K Gudi comes under the reserve forest area of BR Hills, It has very few accommodations which include the Jungle lodges and forest IB.
Route:From Bangalore procede on Mysore road towards Mysore, in Maddur take a left deviation towards Mallavalli from here its pretty much a straight road to Kollegal and then on to Yellandur, from here head towards B R Hills (belligiri betta), the last 40 KM or so of the route is through protected forest area. 2 KM before B R Temple you will have to take a left deviation(they have put up a direction board here), and the best part is the last 18 KM streach which is almost Isolated, both on our way to and from there we encountered not more than 2 vehicles, this may not sound like much to you but for someone used to being stuck in Bangalore traffic for hours each day this is nothing short of a miracle.
The Jungle lodges at K Gudi have very little in terms of comfort, but trust me you don’t need anything more than what they offer. The moment you check into your room(you have choice of either a log hut or a tent); you will realize how calm the place is. The rest of your stay is basically planned out for you… unless you want to opt out of an activity. There is no continuous power here, they will provide power between 6 PM and 9 PM for you to complete your activities and more importantly charge up your mobile or other batteries.
There are two forest Safaris arranged, if you don’t want the second safari you can opt for a short trekking, or you can laze around in the lodge campus which is quite relaxing. The food is quite OK, there is no room service and no TV or telephone in the room and the best part is you don’t miss any of them.
