For somebody like me who watches 4 or 5 bollywood movies(vaastav, satya, kaun, sarfarosh, shool) in 2 years & out of that 3 are Ram Gopal Verma movies u can say I am his biggest fan around. Though he can be forgiven for being unable to make another movie as perfect as SATYA .Comparing all his movies after Satya with the masterpiece would be unfair to him(though there is no excuse for a MAST).
JUNGLE was a pretty decent movie from him & a great movie if u compare it with the rest of the mindless crap of bollywood. All the actors were pretty ok. Fardeen Khan was just average but considering his acting capabilities it will be his best work ever. Shushant was convincing as the mean Chaudhary but his character was flawed (imagine veerappan getting senti for a babe that too Urmila & hunting her instead of saving his own life).But it was the short guy(i forgot his name since I watched the movie some time back) with a desire to kill people in his own artistic way who was the discovery of this movie. Though I am a fan of Kashmira Shah’s oomph , her character somehow reminded me of Seema Biswas but then I guess the CASTING COUCH factor must have played a part here :). Now Verma’s lady love Urmila whom I dislike a lot & more so since she is there in all of verma movies .Ram Gopal Verma if u r reading this plzzzzzz change ur actress plzzzz , Sonali Bendre also deserves a go at ur couch. Sunil Shetty tried his best too but he was too soft for a defense guy.
Regarding the plot of the movie I think all of u know by now what it is so its useless to mention here. Its a good hindi movie with some great scenes ....esp the one in which 3 of the dacoits argue over the way to kill one of the hostage(that is my scene of the year). The duet in the jungle was unnessary & illogical. But then this is bollywood.
This is clearly this years only good movie from bollywood yet.And thank God Aishwarya isn’t there in JUNGLE( she seems all over nowadays).
