If you travel to Singapore and not visit Jurong bird park then it is a crime. This trip happened last year, with my son and daughter in law. My son had booked the bus tickets from Singapore park. The tickets were less than 10 dollars for adults. The bus directly took us to the Bird Park. The park opens from 8.00 am to 5.30 pm. This is a world famous bird sanctuary that is spread across the vast area of 21 acres. There are guides and sanctuary people everywhere. We took a tram, learnt things about the bird sanctuary and the different kinds of birds that are there. The way these people take care of the birds is commendable.
We were lucky to have experienced one of the feeding sessions of the birds, which was lovely.
Flamingos, pelicans, penguins, the experience was indescribable. the sanctuary was very well maintained, there was greenery all over for the birds. One of the guides informed us that there are flocks of more than 450 species in the bird sanctuary. Many shows take place for the visitors, my son had booked the tickets for lunch with parrots. Parrots are such wonderful creatures, the lady there was very sweet and was well-spoken. It is a half an hour show and there are many other shows that you can go for, one that we missed was hawk arena, by the time we reached the tickets were sold out. You have to go well in advance to get the tickets.
Another activity that we enjoyed was the visit to the gift shops. The shops were filled with beautiful soft toys. We picked up penguin soft toy and parrot soft toys for my niece and nephews back home.
