AJAY Devgan as BHOOT

In 2003, you have seen Ajay Devgan in BHOOT (RGV’s) while in 2005 you will see Ajay Devgan AS Bhoot in film KaaL. I AM NOT KIDDING, I can bet with you this is a fact ;)

I think you genius people already guessed and understod that what I meant. Yes Ajay played the role of a spirit (Bhoot) in film Kaal that was supposed to be a jungle adventure based on Tigers but actually you (and we all) are deceived because its basically a B grade (but big budgeted) type horror thriller.

As you all knows the story is of 4 people lara, john, esha, and vivek who were trapped in the jungle and met a person with the name of Kaali who was shown as a villager and their guide but actualyy in the end you discovered that he was actually a BHOOT who travlled throughout with those alive people and was the reason for the killings of many people /friends of the lead cast of 4.

Story has nothing in it, no substance, it is just like a corny and childish horror stories that we used to listen from our elder siblings and nani/dadi in our childhood in our bed time.. totally unsuitable for a big budgeted and heavy magnitude kinda film like Kaal. I mean it was suitable for a b or c grade film with unknown new faces, but not for a film of this caliber/banner and budget.

The film serves no purpose at all, even the two songs in the opening and ending credit feels very much unmatched. The director said that the first song was picturised on SRK/malika and he wanted to show it in the bar situated in the jungle, but no indication was given in the film. Also after the death of Esha Deol , showing her in the ending song, dancing in skimpy clothes with the lead cast seems utterly stupid and totally of a case of less intelligence.

Direction wise Soham is not that bad but still there is lot for improvement for him and also he should take care of the generation n direction of the film in which it goes.

Karan johar and RGV’s combination in the form of Soham looks totally out of place, illogical and confusing.

Ajay delivers a fine performance but should be a bit more scary , harsh and rough as he was portraying the role of a BHOOT that was murdered very brutally by tigers. He should avoid those gentle and sweet, relaxed and soft expressions in these kinda roles.

Vivek was irritating, unnatural and misfit and Lara didn’t suited with her a bit and also Eshaand John looked brother and sister instead of spouses, actually the original pairing should be the wild, sexy, outspoken and bold Lara and John and the young, sweet and down to earth with girl/guy next door image Esha and Vivek.

John was as usual, good but type cast with similar expressions more or less. Esha has improved looks wise , but nothing otherwise. Lara in wasting her strong-headed image and talent in these kind of bimbo characters.

Surprisingly music was good, and all of the songs were foot tapping and enjoyable.

Overall not a film of the calibre one was expecting from the intelligent student of RGV and Karan Johar and of producer like SRK, and the cast like esha, lara, john and vivek.

No doubt its enjoyable and not a bad time pass but you will be bitterly disappointed when you will enter the hall having extreme expectations in your mind keeping the giant names of the film industry.
