Is Karan Johar on dope? I never really liked his movies but this really did it. Produced by Karan, the movie KAAL has been directed by Soham Shah. Now, I do not really know who this fellow is, but I hope to God I never run into him. The star cast of this “supernatural thriller” includes Ajay Devgan, Vivek Oberoi, John Abraham, Lara Dutta and Esha Deol.
The story is about a couple of people who find themselves stuck in the Jungle and who are confronted with danger at every turn. Their only hope is Kaaliya (Ajay Devgan) who can lead them out of the Jungle. He comes across as an oddball with a knack for saying the ‘wrong things as the wrong time’. Initially, when some of the people die in the jungle, John Abraham (a researcher) suspects Vivek Oberoi of these gruesome killings but soon enough it becomes clear that there is more to it than meets the eye.
The direction of the movie is not merely “bad” it simply wants to make you throw up all over yourself and do it again just to show your contempt for this dunce! As for acting, I think Lara did a great job at screaming and crying while John Abraham proved yet again that models cannot act!
The dialogues were totally out of place and the camera angles made you dizzy. I am not sure what they were trying to do here, something like Predator, may be? The ending would make you want to pull your hair out
The only saving grace of this movie was the lack of songs. I had read reviews of this movie by others but refused to believe that a movie could be this bad, well surprise, surprise, this is bad and then some.
