Less than average album!!!

When I first heard about this movie and the star cast, I decided I just had to get this album! It proved to be a disappointment though having only two really worthwhile songs to listen to! Although these songs are excellently done, they aren’t enough to make up for the disappointment of the other songs!

KAAL DHAMAAL

I don’t why or how but the moment I read about this song on the Internet, I thought it’s got to be a Kunal Ganjawala song! And I was right! I don’t how I came to that conclusion; it just popped into my head. Yes it is a Kunal Ganjawala song. And I haven’t seen the video or the movie but I know this song features Shahrukh Khan and Malaika Arora Khan after a gap of seven years since Dil Se.

Kunal Ganjawala does a great job at singing as he usually does. Listening to this song, one can just imagine SRK dancing to this song! I didn’t really like Kunal Ganjawala at first, but after listening to this song I really got to love his voice! Weird!

sherni yeh aankhen tumhari, kya ghazab hai pyari pyari, makhmali yeh roop tumhara ashiqui ban jaye hamari, pata pata, daali daali sab kare yeh sawaal, bekhbar iss, dharkano sa poochna to haal, iss kaal kaal mein hum tum kare dhamaal..

TAUBA TAUBA

This is my favorite song in the album and the best! It features the voices of Sunidhi Chauhan, Sonu Nigam, Richa Sharma, and of course Kunal Ganjawala. Excellent selection, has a kind of qawwalli beat to it! The song starts up with some weird sound then you ca hear Kunal’s ‘oh mahiya’! Sonu does an excellent job at this song, I think he does the best! Sunidhi and Richa sound great as well. Kunal, as usual is excellent, yet I don’t think he is as good as Sonu!

My favorite part:

Sonu Nigam : tu hi deewangi, tu hi awargi, rabba merey tu hi merey zindagi

NASSA NASSA

Sunidhi and Sonu teaming up to deliver a not so good selection here. Nassa Nassa is an ok-ish song; it is a horrible sounding Punjabi song! This song is has an excellent beat for running through the jungle, running from man-eating tigers! Listening to this song, one can just imagine the actors/actresses running for their lives! But that is just using my imagination, I don’t know how they did the video in the movie! To Sunidhi: You are an excellent singer but you just weren’t good enough in this song! To tell the truth, you sound horrible. Sonuji: You are one of the best singers, if not the best! You sound sweet, but really, you can do much, much better than this!

yeh zindagi chand sanson ka mela hai jo yeh na samjha passa,

mein nassa nassa nassa nassa nassa nassa tu vi nass dol janiya

AKHIYAN TERIYAN VE

I don’t really like this song much, it’s just not my kind of song. It is a good song, with excellent vocals by the singers Kailash Ker and Caralisa but some of the lyrics seem to have been copied from the English song “Eye of the tiger”. And not just the lyrics but the same notes as well! It’s that what pissed me off!

THE DHARMA MIX

I nearly cried when I heard this song! If I wasn’t crying I was screaming, “what did they do to my songs!” The Dharma Mix includes songs from other movies produced by Dharma Productions such as Pretty Woman (Kal Ho Naa Ho), Bole Chodiyan and Say Shava Shava (K3G) and Koi Mil Gaya (Kuch Kuch Hota Hai). The medley ends with a few lines from Pretty Woman; it also starts with that song. All songs sound horrible with the exception of Koi Mil Gaya! I should say I was screaming my head off because these are some of my favorite songs and they have totally ruined them!

KAAL DHAMAAL – THE TIGER MIX

Doesn’t sound much different from the original except for the rather peppy intro. As a matter of fact I have never heard anything that sounds less like a mean, man-eating tiger song!

JUNGLE MIX

Vocals by Caralisa once again. It the first time I’m hearing one of her songs and she does sound great! This song as a lot of scary, lost-in-the-creepy-jungle sounds! It makes you not want to be in a jungle with a over-hungry, man-eating tiger!

All in all, Kaal is an average no, less than average album! IT has only two really good songs which as I said before is not enough to make up for the terrible album, even with Kunal and Sonu’s fantastic singing!
