Good Horror Movie with Engaging Performance

This movie has been publicised as the’First Day Horror Movie of India’. It also got a few awards in the South Africa Horrorfest 2010.

I was unable to watch this movie for a long time as it’d DVD was not available anywhere. At last, I found this DVD on https://onlineindianmart.com.

This movie is about a witch/bad spirit who cannot resist small girls and kills them as soon as they come into its area. Kaalo is the name of the witch and she resides in a remote village in Rajasthan. The village has been abandoned since ages because of Kaalo.

Even the project which was to start in that village cannot start because Kaalo kills all workers too. The main story of this movie starts when a bus is going through the village of Kaalo as a result of a detour. At that time Kaalo becomes totally insatiable because of the presence of a small girl played by Swini Khara, in the bus. The bus has some very realistic characters like the 3 drunkards, a newly wed couple, a priest and his wife. But the main role in this movie is that of Aditya Srivastav(who also plays the role of Inspector Abhijeet in CID on Sony TV). He portrays his character with such finesse that he could carry the whole movie on his shoulders. The acting by all actors is good.

The thrills are also placed at strategic points in the movie.

The downside is the sloppy makeup of Kaalo. If that had been better, then this movie could have got many more ratings.

If you like Hindi horror movies, then this movie is a must watch, otherwise you can give this movie a miss.
