After watching the movie Kaante I fromulated the perfect recipe to make a flop..Six superstars, unlimited budget and Sanjay gupta as director and there you are..a perfect disaster ’Kaante’..A movie with an average storyline and a huge starcast will bomb in the box office and Kaante is the movie to prove it right..probably if it were reversed by putting an average star cast and a better storyline a movie might have fared better.And ofcourse the hype created by he media created amount of expectations on the audience and the movie did not live up to it..But as far as Kaante is concerned I would consider it as a complete disaster..
As far story is concerned it is pretty average and does not seem realistic..A bunch of six criminals stealing a American bank and getting away with it..cmon gimme a break.That too in America..ok wait there is more to follow. lemme continue..Amitabh Bacchan, Sanjay dutt, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sunil Shetty.Kumar gaurav, Lucky Ali set out to settle their scores with the cops by stealing their banks(if only it was that easy)..They set out planning for their heist and start practising on roof tops(that was real funny ..practising on top of sky scrapers and getting away with it)..Neways they rob the bank ’successfully’ but when they come out they find that they have been surrounded by the police(Atleast the robbery should have been given more time..man only 4 minutes for the robbery in the bank..after all that is what the whole movie is about..for that matter Aankhen was much better.)..After an encounter with the cops they reach their hide out and conclude that one among them is an undercover cop..who is the undercover cop?who has put their life in jeopardy?who made their plan go awry?well that is what remaining part of the movie is all about..
The movie is stylish allright, but the fact is that it is inspired from the hollywood flick ’Reservoir Dogs’ of Quentine Tarantino..very poor remake of the original..and as far the direction is concerned it is very ordinary and there are so many loopholes that makes you laugh at the film at many instances..like you must have a little common sense to make better scenes..the scene of practising at roof tops seems so silly and that the cops would not notice makes it even more sillier..The music is decent and you keep humming the songs for quite some time after the movie..as far performances are concerned it is top class.after all what can you expect from performers like Bachhan and Sanjay..But Mahesh manjrrekar takes every one by surprise by his acting..wonder where he was all these days..
On the whole if you are bored sitting in house go watch Saathiya rather than seeing this stupid movie..If you want to watch some acton flicks go and watch a Sunny deol picture but not this..not even worth seeing once..
