Kollywood hero Vijay antony has become popular in tollywood after his blockbuster flick Bichagadu. Vijay antony latest tamil film Kali has come to telugu as Kaasi. let’s see how the film turns to be.
Plot: Dr. kasi( Vijay antony) lives his life in usa with his parents. but they are not his real parents. he is an adopted son his roots are based in small village in andhara pradesh. and starts finding about his past. he suspects two persons could be his father one is local landlord and another one is dacoit. rest of the story is how kasi finds out his parents . what is the connection between landlord, dacoit, and kasi is the rest of the story.
Performance: Vijay antony has appeard in three different roles. one has spoilt student who loves his classmet for ages.second one is a bundit loves a married women, and third is doctor in search of parents in india he has done decent job. anjali look good on screen there is no important to her role .shilpa gets a nice role as village belly . and she has done wonderful performance. sunaina does an important role and entire story revolvs around her . she is excellent. Yogi babu provides comic relief . he one line punch dialouges will get thumping responce form mass audience. among others Nasser and madusudhan rao are adequate.
Music: vijay antony music is very routine . andama song is nice.
bgm is terrifc in some scencs.
Cinematography: cinematography by richard nathan is excellent he captures some beatuful village locations.
Analysis: director kiruthiga udayanidhi proves her talent as a director with vanakkam chennai.though kaasi features vijay in multiple roles but really has nothing to offer in the script and narration.vijay anthony meeting different or the drama episodes and romantic track won’t make any impact. in the first few minutes the plot established that this NRI wants to find out his real father. from the first sub plot to the last one every thing goes about in an outdated fashion. comedian yogi babu evokes fun to an extent in first half.
one of the biggest drawbag for the film is a simple point to drag to an extent.second half where nasser narrates his love story have nothing to do with main plot. this is truly disgusting.
in the end the message that the story wants to convey is right but the excution is totally let down.the way vijay antony goes about finding his dad is shown in an un natural way.
there are not only boaring but lack a logical connection to the story. uneven screenplay and dragged scencs make the film quite boaring and out dated. however since the success of Bichagadu he has been offering the movies that have lame scripts. overall except for the vijay anthony performance and getups this film does not have anything that will impress the audience. except for some movements this film end up as a tedious watch, kaali is another disappoint film from vijay anthony old plot and boaring narration made it an boaring watch .
