Worst experience of my life

I strongly recommend not to visit this restaurant called "Kabab Studio" on Crescent Road, Bangalore.

I had a very horrible day yesterday. For the first time in my life, I was not proud of being an Indian. Unfortunately , this incident , this happened in my own country, in my own city.

Yesterday (22nd June), we went to a restaurant called Kabab Studio (on Crescent road, Blr) around 8:30 PM. We were 4 adults & 2 kids. We asked the manager to provide us a seating arrangement for 6 people. We were given a very good table with a nice view

Sitting next to us were a white couple who were having their dinner.Within few minutes, the white lady next tome demanded that they needed to have a quiet dinner. She also wanted us to move the kids somewhere else.My initial thought was that she was probably kidding.

It is palpable that the kids were supposed to make some noise, since they are small and we can’t always control them. So I went to the manager proactively and briefed him about the the situation. He insisted us to sit there itself. He said it’s not a private place and he would handle if any issue arises.

Couple of minutes later the lady again started the same thing. This time she said we as fathers, don’t know how to control our children. We should leave them at home with a baby Sitter. Apparently she had 5 kids and they never made noise. To be really honest with you the kids were behaving normally. None of the other guests or the manager expressed any concern regarding he kids. Anyway this argument went for some time and then I called manager. Guess what!! The Manager did not turn up. A waiter came and I explained the entire situation to him. He then went to manager. By this time, we lost our interest to eat there. It ruined the celebration of my wedding anniversary.

While leaving the restaurant, the manager met us near the reception. His argument was that the lady did not talk to him. So he could not do much. He chickened out in the first place and did not want to face the music. I could only laugh at him. This time he was giving me another seat. I had my dignity intact and left the restaurant immediately after the humiliation. So, we told him how we felt very politely and came out of the restaurant.

I have been to numerous restaurants & public places in the past and have never ever experienced such a humiliation. I have never heard of any such instance either. I understand we are a country, where we treat guests equal to god. But to a restaurant manager, all the guests should be equal and I expect to be treated fairly. Foreign nationals shouldn’t be given preference over us, especially when they are wrong.

I have been to US couple of times and I have never faced such issues. Anyway, my 3 year old daughter kept asking me why we did not have dinner at the restaurant .I had to unfortunately leave the restaurant without having anything especially her favorite “Kababs”. I could not explain her why. I hope at least you can explain her. I have only one other for the restaurant guys. Should I call myself a proud Indian and a proud Father?
