Mammoth were the expectations from the latest offering from the most talented and agile filmmaker of all times:- KARAN JOHAR and the film does fulfil them , though meagre in number.
The plot of the film is set on a lavish scale in a Metro city.Infidelity is the core topic which dominates the whole film. The unsuccessful marriage of both the couples is depicted very well.
By watching this film , the respect which I had fo KJo has increased by leaps and bounds. The audience will never say alvida to his great films .
The cinematography of the film is GREAT .Anil Mehta captures the panoramic view of the New York city with aplomband the final result is a definite eye-candy.
SELs music is the sore part of the whole enterprise.None of the songs barring Mitwa are worth listening. They are really boring and test your patience to the hilt.ITs time that KJo now returns back to Jatin-Lalit who gave some lilting music to his films thus generating massive euphoria before the films relase.Farah Khan does a master job by giving the lifeless songs some zingy feel
to it.Great work!!!Dialogues are amazing.
Now finally to the performances.AB does a good job.His speech after ROCKNROLL SONIYE is great. This is Abhisheks great performance after Yuva.Rani only cries throughout the entire film.Where is acting, Rani?SRK AND PRIETY are the real winners of KANK.Essaying the role of the wife who is a working woman and scouring for the love of her husband, Priety evokes pity .Bravo!!!SRKs character is completely different from his previous characters and he also does a great job.
Finally KJO takes a giant leap as a director but still the midas touch of Karan Johar seems to be missing throughout the entire film. The films length is a major drawback. But anyways, KANK overall is a good experience but certaninly not an unforgettable one.
