The world is changing so the many definitions. The sacred word Love takes the definition hidden in Betrayal and Infidelity, those who do so are called Hero and correct, the ill-logic behind the strained relationship becomes artistic and philosophical, the shallowness of thought becomes thoughtful ...the dark is being called light...and in contradicting this all they find the beauty and creativity, in nonesense they find meanings! this is the style statement at current which seems to have gripped this movie and those who are appreciating it with the same type of content which the movie itself has.
Mr. Karan Johar’s career graph tells all in itself. It needs a Yash Chopra hit to make a movie, a movie where 10 songs occupy for 1 hour of time. Rest of the 1:30 minutes is passed through designer dress competition, dialgoues using ultra mod culture where the USA citizens themselves feel backward, Shahrukh Khan giving footage for mayur suitings, Head and Solders shapoo, PP Jewllers, and saas- bahoo chorus party echoing whole time "AAAAAA--HooHOO HOO he he he!" in the background of forced emotional scenes.
Believe me most of those people who like KJ just go there to know the current fashion trend, sari design, dress, and where to plan the next trip! The movie ends and every one comes out happy happy. No botheration of thinking, ample popcorn burger in tummy and Chadda and Karolia’s wife going for shopping the next sunday to find those memories of KJ movie in the shopping malls and market, spending black money cashes of their hubbies .
This time Mr. johar after getting famous for above said facts wanted to prove that No! Me too can make movies like Bhansali and Vishal bharadwaj...i too have got gravity to deal witht he subject as I too have got the money and I have to prove that...i will rope in all stars to ensure that it is a hit, I will purchase reviewers like taran Adarsh to give it all go 5 stars.....but he forgot one thing above all....It Needs Heads of Kind of Bhansali, Chopra, Vishal Bharadwaj to first think with conviction and logically, thereafter draw the plot and come up with a movie which public appreciate even after being bold like Black, Gangajal, Silsila, Omkara!
Karan johar thought by pumping money and taking just a serious subject with all pathetic shallow approach to the subject he would succeed....he did suicide to his own carrier as well as compelled shahrukh and rani to do the same with this movie....the collateral damage has been the most to these three people with this movie. Already Shahrukh was struggling for a hit movie for past 3 years and Rani lost her credibility by playign such ill characters so ill convincingly. The recent trade of box office shows that entire eastern and northern India plannign to remove the screening of the movie within 2/3 weeks and already in nepal the movie has faced setback with almost nill viewers on sunday show!
Neither the critics nor the viewers foudn it gullible and have shown thumbs down as was with paheli. And they shoudl do it becuase:
#1. The movie is among the worst written plot and storyline which has no logic.
#2. The movie struggles with no clear characterization.
#3. The movie tries to be being different by talking weired and callign infidelity a genuine thing.
#4. The movie has no reasoning of strained relationship and leaves the viewers to think that one is eligible to call off a relation on any silly ground.
#5. As usual Mr. Johar tried to portray ultra mod society where an old man keeps on calling prostitutes and call girls even in front of his daughter in law and son, and makes off all by giving a party and sentimental lecture over trust....which man has got morality to speak anythign when he calls on prostitutes in his home caring nothing about the effect over young daughter in law!
#6. Rani Mukerji keeps on yelling her hubby is childish but finds SRK lovely who is in reality more childish and non caring.
#7. Please tell me if any woman in proper mental frame would not love a person who loves her passionately, and specially when that person is her own husband? All girls die to get such husband...who does not...only Ms. rani had the problem with such guy...i think instead of SRk would have karan johar pitted SAM the casanova before her would be more justified if she had that temprament.
#8. Will you call a person a human when he does not care about his 4 years old son and escapes out of family to satisfy his sexual urges and ego? But this man calls him a hero!
#9 Will you leave a girl who cares about you all the time and bears the burns of your all frustration and inability to work? She is your bread winner and still you harass her but she still loves you...and finally you break away from her accusing her as the reason for the the break up? The director has got justification for such nonesense too!
#10. Finally Mr. Johar crosses all limits of crativity and boldness by calling those the nice human who were trying to save their marriages as responsible and those who broke and did the infidelity the correct and great lovers.
Performances This movie has only few performances that too by Abhishek and Amitabh only which keeps you able to control your mental calm or moving out of the cinema hall though most of the viewers start leaving the cinema hall much before. Shahrukh Khan has again done extreme over acting and in some scenes like his patch up with his son looks like he got pralytic attack! Rani mukerji has done blunder by choosing such movie and was unable to justify her character. pretiy was good but had not much to do. rest is forgetable.
The cinematography and songs picturisations were the best part along with Bachchans’ performances. The new york backdrop was nice. Music is also good. Rock N Roll and whers the party tonight where John Abrahim makes appearance are good one.
But in overall, this movie is worth for nothing even with the above given few good points. This movie may be counted among the most foolish job done with all hype on the name of bold subject...but it is just a serious movie turned into comedy where director seems to lost his mental balance and delivers a product which would better serve the audiences sitting in mental asylum or future candidate for mental asylum instead of cinema halls for normal public.
