A movie that broke all expectations!

A love that broke all relationships!

A movie that broke all expectations!

This movie will teach Karan Johar that good costumes, enormous sets, outdoor locations and great choreography doesn’t make a movie hit! I don’t know what he wants to convey by this movie?? Two people meet, enjoy each others company but are married to someone else. Later, they meet again, depart, meet, depart – what the hell is it?

STORY

Dev saran (Shahrukh Khan), a macho football player meets Maya Talwar (Rani Mukherjee) just before she gets married to Rishi Talwar (Abhishek Bachchan). They share a conversation and then depart. Soon after Dev meets an accident and gets handicapped. His wife Rhea Saran (Preity Zinta) is the bread owner of their family. She is very successful, independent and famous. And this is what really hurts Dev! He has to look after their son and bring him up. On the other hand, Rishi is a rich, handsome and a dedicated husband. He likes to party all night and enjoy with his wife. But his wife, Maya wants his husband to behave like a mature man and not like a kid who is crazy after parties and kissing his wife!

Dev is all alone. Rhea doesn’t have time to listen to his woes or take care of their son. Maya is all alone. Rishi doesn’t want to discuss with her and share her sorrows! Two lonely people – one sad situation. They meet and they try to save their marriages by suggesting each other “how to attract your life partner?” and all this in a public place! Rani mukherjee even gives a visual explanation in a bed furniture showroom! Can you imagine that? They try it on their life partners and all turns out to be a comic situation. Finally, frustrated they fall in love with each other!

The movie is enjoyable until some point in the movie when Amitabh Bachchan passes away and then karan makes a mess of it till the end. After his death, they meet, depart, meet again, depart again and all nonsense!

CREDITS

Amitabh Bachchan or ‘sexy sam’ as his nickname goes in the movie is great and enjoyable. He plays his role perfectly whether it is sam (Rishi’s dad), a man who is fun loving or samarjeet, a man who helps his son in his relationship.

Preity Zinta is really stunning in the movie. Anyone would die for her, take care of her children, cook food and serve her. But shahrukh khan just wouldn’t do it in the movie. She plays her part perfectly. If you are preity’s fan then you will fall in love with her in this movie.

Shahrukh Khan. Is that his name? Well you will forget his real name and remember him as Dev when you’ll watch the movie. He leaves such an impact on the audience. Simply perfect!

Abhishek Bachchan has nothing much to do but still he is much better than his previous movies!

Rani Mukherjee has fallen down along with Karan! She does nothing, except crying and complaining about her husband. She is like a puppet – when the director tells her to laugh she does it and when he tells her to cry she simply does it!

Kirron Kher is good and the cute little son of shahrukh reminds you of chicken little! Watch out for John Abraham as DJ, Arjun Rampal as preity’s boss and kajol dancing with both the Bs.

Choreography, as usual is superb. A special mention for Rock ‘n’ Roll Soniye. Stunning performances, costumes and sets. And also tumhi dekho na – well pasteurized!

Music by SEL is good but not upto the mark. It’s better to watch KKHH, K3G or KHNH at home rather than watching KANK!

The movie is really wonderful at some points in the story but equally disappointing at others. On the whole it doesn’t satisfy when one walks out of the cinema hall!
