I think this film is a result of Karan Johar’s overconfidence, brimming from his past successes. This film is not a film, but a glossy video on the popular actors.
The script does not seek logic and wanders aimlessly. The actors are confused, particularly SRK, who seems to nod his head like Dev Anand in his middle age.
The folllowing questions are unanswered:
Priety - SRK’s wife - if she was successful in her career, is it her fault
SRK - Priety’s confused husband - His career hits a low, due to his accident,
which forces Priety to be the main breadwinner
of the family. SO what is SRK’s complaint..?
Why does he sulk..?? Priety never acted high
handedly anywhere to give SRK a complex..!!
SRK was just looking for an excuse to wriggle out
of his complex mind.
Had they shown his marriage with Rani and their
life after marriage, they would have split as
well... Thanks to SRK...!!??!!
Rani - Abhishek’s confused wife - Rani seems to be more confused than SRK. She
does not get along with Abhishek after marriage
to him, despite the poor man caring for her, and
paying her lots of attention.
Her baseless complaints are - He is a child..!
Now, if we have seen Abhishek express irritation
over his father’s ( Amitabh ) fooling around, and
expects him to be more mature and dignified...
Does this not reveal a mature mind..??
Does this indicate he is a child still..?
Both, SRK and Rani do not look convincing falling for each other. They look more guilty and confused, as there is no rhyme or reason to do what they have been asked to do..!!
SRK looks like an actor who thinks...since he is the super star...he has to do something to impress the audience, but
does not know what to do, and neither the script helps him in doing what he does. All this leads to.........feeling deceived
when you receive a huge gift, wrapped in a stunning package...when you open the gift wrap, there is nothing inside..!!
Karan Johar should meditate for a while, and come out of his habit of making a glossy painting with no substance..!!
