Sitting at a Cafe in London, this guy Karan Johar got the idea of this movie. He came back to India and born was a movie called Kabhi and whatever. I dint understand what was the logic and was there a message in the movie. To me it seemed to be a sheer wastage of time and money.
In my personal opinion today’s Bollywood movies are just like junk food. U’ll have your stomach full ( your brain in the movies’ context ) but that is not at healthy ( movies for mind ).
Reason why we always get this junk stuff is that we, the public, the mob like this junk.
I met a young guy of the age 15 approx. He used to sing in the public places to earn his bread, specially in the love parks. He told me he loves a girl who is two years younger then him and is studying at a school. The guy on the other hand has never seen a school. I asked him if the girl is ready to marry him inspite of being aware that he illiterate. His reply was positive.
" ’Raja Bhaiyya’ picture men jaise Karishma Kapoor Govinda ko padhna sikhati hai, waise hi wo bhi mujhe padhna sikha sakti hai. Main anpadh hoon to kya !" . This was the reply of the innocent guy.
This is far far and far from the reality. I hope you can guess what can be the reality. Movies make our approach unrealistic.
As per my opinion the basic difference between the Bollywood movies and the Hollywood movies is that the Bollywood movies are generally produced for Commercial purposes. It is prepared with some good scenes and locations. All of the scenes are taken from other already created movies, sometimes cheated from Hollywood. There are 2 -3 counted themes on which the Bollywood movies are created. All of them nowhere touching the reality. Most common theme is Love where the guy and the girl go against the society and their families.
Now a days it is being copied by the youngsters. You’ll everyday get to hear a news of a guy and a girl running from home and gettinng married.
On the other hand you’ll find most of the Hollywood movies based on a specific themes, ideology, story or a true incident. Most of them carry a subject and a lesson for all.
When a teenager in West talk about science and technology, pair in India plans to run out of home, carrying emational bond in their heart with the dream of spending life together as a husband and wife. This is the true picture.
I recommend healthy viewing for all.
