Music Of one of the most awaited movie "Kabhi Alwida Na Kehna", popularly known as KANK has been out.The Question is will it be a hit album just like Karan Johar’s previous ventures "Kuch Kuch Hota hai", "Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham" and "Kal Ho Naa Ho". KANK has been composed by trio Shankar-Ehsaa-Loy, who were also behind the misic of his last movie "Kal Ho Na ho". KANK album has got 7 composition in all with one being a remix of the song.All flavours are there Happy, Sad, Romantic everything. Album opens up with the title track "Kabhi Alwida Na Kehna".If you realise this is very unconventional cause being album opens with a sad number this time. Song has got melody and its reaches to your heart very soon because of the lyrics and music.Sung by Sonu Nigam and female voice given by Alka Yagnik.Song is very beautifully penned by Javed Akhtar saab.Song marks the seperation of two lovers wishing each other and promise to remember each other.
This songs also gives you a feel of the story line of the movie and you can imagine the preset in which this song may have picturised. Next comes a fast number "Mitwa" sung by Pakistani singer Shafqat Amanat Ali, who is part of Pakistani band Fuzon, and accompanied by Shanker.Songs open with the lines "Love will find the way".Though I dont like the song so much but it will surely find the way in top chartbusters during comoing week This song has also remixed and included in the album as "Mitwa (Revisited)".In my personal opinion remix is far more better then the unplugged version. We had "It’s the time to Disco" in "Kal ho naa Ho" and this time we have "Where’s the Party tonight".While Shaan has given the male voice female part is rendered by Vasundhara Daas.Song has very well used the chorus where Shankar and Loy has also given there voice.A song on very Loud notes and music will surely be a anthem for youth in coming days for asking "Where’s the Party tonight".
After a sad number and two fast track songs there comes a romantic number "TUMHI DEKHO NAA" and belive me you will love every bit of this song.Right from the starting notes , music , lyrics and everything you can think of a song to be your favourite. Again sung by Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik and words given shape by Javed Saab, this song straight away make a place in your heart.Excerpts from the music of this song are included in title song too. Best song of the album and belive me once you listen this song you will miss the one who you love the most in this world.It makes you to miss your beloved.Just take my words for this When we have Amitabh Bachan in the movie, then there is a song specially for him.Just like "Shava Shaava" in K3g its "Rock N Roll Soniye" in KANK.Shankar, Shaan and Mahalaksmi singing this foot tapping number with lyrics form the yesteryears song "Sar pe topi laal hath mei Resham ka Rumaal, oye tera Kya Kehna".
Just have a feel you are dancing with Amitab bachan. Last comes the FAREWELL TRANCE which is the instrumental version of title song, which soothes you very well as album comes to its last number. On a whole its a good album but comparitively not good as what Karan Johar music was in his previous movies.
