I first saw this movie during my childhood times I guess when I was in 5th standard.
But till date it leaves a very learning experience, made in 1976 symbolizes todays culture in many ways. Movies kicks off with a wedding scene where the beautiful Rakhee(Puja) gets married to Shashi Kapoor(Vijay Khanna), as per arrange marriage norms cause she wasnt able to make her parents understand her love for amitabh bachan(Amit Malhotra, who is a poet by nature) till destinys makes them meet again after 20+ odd years, where things change drastically, but still the respect & understanding last. Very meaningful dialogues written one of my favourite picturised on shashi kapoor, ( https://youtube.com/watch?v=rsqJQoPar5c).climax scene says it all a man should respect his life partner in regards to her past knocking its future, & accept the fact in true spirits rather than fighting on it.
Spanning over to the next generation, Pooja and Vijay have a son, Vikram(Rishi Kapoor), also known as "Vicky", who falls in love with Pinky while they are in college and the two plan to get married. When Pinky learns that she is actually adopted and the identity of her real mother, she tries to get close to Anjali. While Anjali eventually acknowledges her existence and secretly showers her love on her reunited daughter, she does not reveal the relationship to her husband, fearing for her marriage
A very cute & evergreen couple love story of Rishi Kapoor & Neetu Singh.
Very famous songs & meaningful still a delight to listen to them. The soundtrack includes the following tracks, composed by Khayyam, and with lyrics by Sahir Ludhianvi, The "Kabhi Kabhie Mere Dil Mein" duet version, with Mukesh and Lata Mangeshkar, is a must hear song, also the parody by amitabh on Kabhi Kabhi is a bliss to ears. Other songs are also beautifully written.
A must watch for people who value relations!
