JOHAR does what he likes !

Karan Johar believes in one thing - to bring out the deepest of emotions from a human heart. and he knows the required process can’t afford to be boring or lacklustre. so, he decides to set new standards in the aspect of production values. First, he ensembles the best star cast from our film industry that is possible. In the first half, each one of them is at the best of their aura. Amitabh Bachchan is his towering best, Jaya Bachchan is at her endearing ’N’ emoting best, and SRK is at ease palying himself all over again.

The only one really experimenting is KAJOL as the small town lass, who is loud yet likeable [ hugely likeable ! ] JOHAR maintains a perfect balance between giggles and tears. the title is actually for the audience, not for the movie. they get to have some really good laughs and equally henky-use encouraging sobs. Johar also creates some great moments to remember. for instance, when Nandini [ jaya bachchan ] stands up a stool to come upto his husband’s level was a lyrical scene.

In the second half, HRITHIK ROSHAN surprisingly steals the show, with able support from a whacky kinda comedy oriented performance from KAREENA KAPOOR. on paper, POOH’s role may have been hugely insignificant, but BEBO dahling takes that role to enormous altitudes of glamour and attitude. Coming back to JOHAR, he then orders designer outfits to embed his already glazing stars, leaving no stones unturned at all. And it seemed as if he had rented the Queen’s palace for his shooting purpose. Wonder how much did that alone had cost him.

However, Johar also attempts something as dangerous as changing the calendar. he arranges DIWALI, 6th SEPT, and KARVA CHAUTH [ which normally falls in NOV. ] in a span of 2 weeks. whew !   anyways, K3G, as it is commonly re-called, is a fine entertainer, requesting you to leave your brains at times, but touches your heart never-the-less.a must-watch for the BADJATYA sorts, and a strict no-no for all those who hate SRK and/or KARAN JOHAR. Final rating - *1/2cheer sharsh
