Kabhi Gham Kabhie Khushi for the public

Let me start by explaining the title to my review. There was khushi and gham experienced by the audiences while watching this film but when the actors on screen were khush the audiences were sad, and when the actors were sad the audiences seemed to be in splits.

Well may be not so literally.

The story of this film did not manage to hold the audiences except for the attraction in terms of its stars!

Imagine if the film were to be made with a bunch of nobodies or worse still with six mediocre actors, the film wouldn’t have excited the audiences one bit.

Imagine this scenario, Kiran Kumar (no offence meant) and say a glamourous screen mother, a la Reema Lagoo were to star as the parents in the film.

The elder son to be played by Nana Patekar and Ayesha Jhulka and the younger brother’s role was portrayed by Inder Kumar with Divya Palat as his heroine!

So what we are trying to say is that the only selling point of the film pre and post release was the STARS. Not one, all six of them.

But unlike Karan Johar’s debut Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, which again had a weak screenplay, this film lacks the innocence as well.

K3G is a perfectly packaged and well-marketed item which sure made its profits.

But it didn’t score where the public opinion was concerned. There were lots of silly things which were not required at all and seemed rather childish. The silliest of all being the ’Jana gana mana’ added for patriotic effect.

Except for Kajol’s comedy and Hrithik’s histrionics the film isn’t worth a watch at all.

If you haven’t seen it, trust us, there is only khushi in your life and no scope for gham.
