Usually u can’t expect yashraj producing such movies, but I read somewhere tat Adi was impresed by Director’s(kabir khan) story naration. After 9/11 every one knows about afghanistan and taliban.But for me in the movie , the beauty of the land which I saw in the Khuda gawah is totally destructed destroyed now.After watching the movie I felt somehow wat Taliban pre 9/11 and USA did after tat is to destroy the beautiful city.Nobody and no one can change the life style of an Afghan.In search of taliban usa bombarded the whole city killing some innocent people or leaving them disabled. Unlike other directors who tries to prevent the direct word Pakistan=Terrorism, in this director clearly states that Pak army always helped Taliban. Their is a scene, where John is doing push ups, and invites The afghan boy to join him , who was admiring him but when the boy gets up , u come to know that he has lost his one leg.This scene tells wat the director is trying to show. Cinematography is absolute mind blowing , One can still find some beauty in destroyed land.
Story is simple but adventerous and well directed. The actor who played the role of talibani steals the show. His character tells how confused but determined are these talibanis. Arshad cracks jokes even when the scene is totally serious , his character avoids the script to get boring or some what like documentry.He without any extra efforts makes u laugh. I think their is tremendous amount of talent hidden behind the so called frog eyes.John is ok , his performance is better than his previous ones, but there is not much to do in his character. The Afghan driver also acted well and there is one american gal among the whole mans land, she looks good . Director has done his job well.After reading so much abt taliban the story becomes familiar and without any twists.But still the pace of the story holds u. Background music is good which goes with the script. In the end I felt the intentions , why Kabir has chosen such a story for his debut. The people who can think abt other suffering people will like the movie.Dil se nikli baat dil tak pahonchti hai.
