I just happened to see 2-3 episodes of "Kahani Hamare Mahabharat Ki", it turned out to be a typical soap drama rather than a epic serial, duration of the serial is half hour, you can’t just get over with repeated frame shots(trademark ekta kapoor style direction), story is left aside.
Costumes are designed to the lines of asoka movie and leh, ladakh landscape looks cool to the story but the serial is definately not cool, they borrowed the winter beast hunt scene from movie 300, frame to frame to show how young bhisma grows ro be a tough warrior, do they think the indian audience is so foolish!
CG and VFX are poor quality and are repeated in many frames, our directors just can’t stop borrowing ideas from hollywood, a fight scene between king Shantanu and young Bhishma, shows same style of animated halo surrounded arrows colliding mid-air, I just imagine, why can’t they shoot it this way, arrow leaving the bow, slow motion CG, cam follows the arrow.from both ways, they collide and’BOOM’, shake screen effect, showing a sound wave emitting from arrow collision impact.
Anyways its not my Mahabharat so cannot do anything much, let ekta drive it the way she wants to!
