Never Take Life For Granted

Life isn’t very predictable. You never know what’s in store for you at the next step. There comes a stage in everyone’s life, when the whole situation turns upside down. During his struggling days, Akshay Kumar went to Rajesh Khanna’s office asking for a role. He was denied the role and came back empty handed. Ten years later Akshay married Twinkle Khanna, daughter of Rajesh Khanna. So, don’t take life for granted. The road of life has many u-turns awaiting us!

Live And Let Live. Genuinely!

Life is very short and valuable. It shouldn’t be wasted in paltry quarrels. Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. If you’ll try and notice carefully, you’ll find that each person is beautiful in his own unique way. When this happens you’ll start loving everyone. With love, will spread happiness! And it will be at this point of time, that you can live your life to the fullest! So, live and let live. Genuinely!

Do Things You Really Enjoy

Almost all of us are so caught up in the humdrum business of everyday living that we hardly get time for real pursuits. Life keeps throwing challenges at us and we keep fighting those challenges. Isn’t it ironical, that in our fight with life, neither life nor will we win; eventually it’s death, which is going to succeed. So, stop compromising and take out some time for yourself. Otherwise before you may know, all the valuable years of your life would be already gone. Do things, which you really enjoy. Read, watch movies, travel and spend quality time with your children.

Accept Loss Gracefully

Life is a game, sometimes you win & sometimes you lose. No one can win every time. You’ll get your share of both good times and hard ones. Be a modest winner and a graceful loser. Every graceful loser is a winner in life.

Give Life A Positive Spin

Believe in “blessing in disguise”. It exists! Life isn’t mathematics that you can forecast what’s going to happen next by calculating and analyzing available data. It’s a rainbow of many shades and hues. There are times when you are in the gray bit of spectrum; if you don’t give up you’ll see the bright soon. Whatever happens happens for the good (in the long run). However, we may not understand it at that point of time because of our myopic vision.

Always Look Forward

Suffering brings wisdom. Any experience in which the result is different from what you expected it to be, gives you a lesson for lifetime. Thus, never think about what might have happened. Emerge from the shadows of past, look ahead, move ahead and don’t get bogged down by what happened in the past.

Continue To Fight

Life is a battlefield. You’ll win some battles and you’ll lose some. But the war won’t be over till you take your last breath. You may think that when problem “xyz” will be over, you can live peacefully! But no, it won’t happen that way! A new problem will emerge after you deal with the problem at hand. It’s a vicious circle, which will go on and on and on. Sad but true! But don’t give up. You were born to fight and you will fight till the very end. It would be a disgrace if you give up and accept defeat. It’s much better to go down fighting rather than surrendering!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you have understood whatever I have mentioned above, then you have understood the message this movie is trying to give!

Story

Shahrukh loves Preity very much but can’t live for long due to a heart disease. But he wants his love for her to stay alive even after he dies. So, he helps Saif to win Preity’s heart and gets Preity a wonderful beloved for the rest of her life. Need I say anymore?

Characters

Shahrukh - Although his life isn’t very long in this flick, yet undoubtedly he is the life of this movie. The whole film revolves around him and he carries off the role perfectly! His heart is full of love for Preity and he wants to give it to her, but sadly he can’t because his diseased heart won’t accompany Preity for too long! So, he finds another heart for her (Saif’s), which can remain with her even after he isn’t alive! Thus, he makes his love immortal by finding true love for his beloved, which would be there with her irrespective of his own physical presence.

Preity - If you want to know why Preity is considered one of the best in the business, just watch this flick! She was simply superb and I don’t think any other actress could have enacted this role better than her. She has a difficult past plus lots of family problems. Among all these predicaments, she has almost forgotten the art of smiling! It is Shahrukh who comes in her life and changes it for better! Only an actress like her could deal with such a transformation of a character (from a serious & sober girl to a bubbly & cheerful one).

Saif - Saif’s performance was one of the main reason for the film’s success. His chemistry with King Khan simply rocked! He carried on from where he left in Dil Chahta Hai, playing a similar kind of a character. Desperate to find his true love and thus, dating every 2nd girl in the process. He and Preity are best friends. Shahrukh makes him realize that his true love is none other than Preity herself and helps him in completing his love story.

Music

Music is one of the strong points of the movie. All the songs are harmonious. The title track “Kal Ho Naa Ho” is the soul of this movie and one of the best of Sonu Nigam. “Maahi Ve” is a blissful song fit for wedding ceremonies and car stereos. “It’s The Time To Disco” is full of positive energy and another suitable track to play in pubs and parties. “Kuch To Hua Hai” is a mushy number describing that feeling of falling in love. “Pretty Woman” is a Hindi remix of the famous English track “Pretty Woman, Walking Down The Street” and is again full of youthful oomph.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The most beautiful part however, is the message this movie tries to convey. It warns us against being left behind in the race of life. It wants us to Act and Act Now! Otherwise, we’ll get so caught up doing mundane things in life that we’ll never spend time with someone we want to. Life will pass by and we won’t stop to smell a flower, to look at the sunrise, to call a friend or to write that letter to grandmother. We’ll keep putting off the more important things in life, but are we sure that tomorrow will come? Kya Pata! Kal Ho Naa Ho!
