What was this Movie made for ?
$** For a promise made by Karan Johar (KJ) to churn out Love lorn, Locales full movie dished out with Punjabi Culture with SRK as a cherry on top.
$** As a series wise effort to make a sidey joker out of other Actors in Bollywood, he started with Salmaan followed it up with Hrithik and now SAK is his Victim.
$** Also as a series wise effort to propagate SRK’s “I-am-the-best” theory.
Performances of the KJ’s Sideys
Now you wondering what all will come here, well in KJ movies all the other Actors are 10% fillers while the Max. Market Capitalization is always with SRK at 90%.
$ Preity Zinta :: Looks graceful and cute as usual and that Dimple makes her look even cuter. She has acted well as a Sorrowful girl.
$ SAK:: He is as usual shown girl gooogling and slap marked on his chicks. Its high time now that SAK should come out of this, but still I feel he was the best part of the movie.
$Jaya Bachchan:: She does alright justice with being a mother, perhaps better than K3G.
$ Sushma Seth:: As a conservative Punjabi Dadi, she fits this role well and does it even better with her Punjabi Fluency.
Other support cast just adds an ok touch to the performances as nothing more was scoped for them.
$$$ SRK:: What was new with him this time ?, perhaps his name AMAN rather than RAHUL and that he dies, Otherwise it was Designer Clothes clad, Neck Swirling, Hair Spoiling, Hand Opening SRK seen ample amount of times in KJ and YC movies. His performances, his outfits and dancing is same Ctrl C Ctrl V from KKHH and DTPH, he starts hamming while he dies. As a saving grace only part that impressed me was when he reveals his Disease to the screen audience in front of his mother (Reema Lagoo).
I feel sorry for Nikhil Advani
As a scape goat director of a Soul Lacking, Pale movie which was written and screen played by KJ, But I feel he did well as a debutant so I wouldn’t blame him much.
Where did KHNH left out ?
1)I was looking for Impact that can strike my nerves and make me cry, but SRK’s death was nothing but looked reel like, the IM was lost and what was left was a PACT between SRK and KJ to promote there friendship on price of others.
2)If at all it was something like Anand, well Not even in his 7 births KJ can look to make something like Anand. Anand had Rajesh Khanna who made his death look like real and almost made me cry (Which I normally don’t) and AB’s emotional outburst at the end which can never be matched by Preity and SAK.
Perhaps a Cynical Saving Grace
1)No KJ this in direction although his shadow was there everywhere in the movie.
2)Uday Chopra was shown his true place in the Industry that he is a sidier then the sidiest in his brief appearance saying Day 6 appearing on a Bicycle, Perhaps he was hired on a 100/shift basis & on top of that KJ says that Chopras are family for me.
3)SRK died and didn’t get Preity in the end, alas otherwise if KJ had directed it we would have seen a modern Sati scene enacted on screen by Zinta.
Boxoffice
As predicted movie zoomed up humongous opening at 10.80 cr in the 1st Week but in the 2nd week movie dropped 30% at all centers and registered 7.75 cr. Overall now KHNH seems to be running out of steam and has made all the false B.O. analysts in a catch 22 situation, BTW KHNH won’t match up with KMG which is ruling roost with 48 cr., diminishing all the records and I think not even Baghban the No.2 movie of this year as per the B.O. Collections. Sold At:: 2.75-3 Cr. KHNH is a loosing propositions in Central India, UP & Bihar while it’s a winner overseas. Gross till date:: 19 Cr.
