Chat: Me, Myself and You. (????????)
Check it out
Me: are yaar, how many reviews will you people write on this album. Already there are enough reviews on this album and now yet another one. How do you think that people will read it and also there is nothing more to add newly about the songs as the movie and the songs are already a hit?
Myself: Yeah it is true. But I don’t agree that review is a FIR. It is to share your opinion with the people about a product. And here I have come to share my opinions about the album. And I hope that anything at anytime if presented in a different and innovative way people will like it and so I think they will enjoy reading my review on this album and doesn’t get bored to read a similar stuff.
You:??????
Me: Stop, You yourself claim that your review is differently presented and innovative. Wait. Let them (Citizens of MS) say. Hai, MSians what do you say. Check out the review and tell us.
You:?????
Me: In general how is the album? It is good or bad?
Myself: I would like to correct your question? No one can say whether it is Good or Bad only you can say that whether you like it or not. Because opinions widely differs and if everybody’s or majority of people’s opinion is “I like the album” then you can conclude that the album is good. And taking the question in that sense my answer is “Yes I liked the album very much”.
The album has totally six songs with two melodies(Kal ho naa ho, Kuch to hua hai), one sad number, two westernized Punjabis(Maahive, Pretty woman) and a dance number (It’s the time to disco) and also an instrumental of Kal ho naa ho song which was not found in the cassette. It has got all necessary stuffs satisfy all kind of audience.
You:?????????
Me: Tell me something about the singers of the songs.
Myself: All the songs are sung by well known singers of Hindi film music.
But the voice the most I liked in this album is that of Sonu nigam in the “Kal ho naa ho” song. He dominates the whole song. He has excellently rendered the feel of the song with proper synchs in his voice and has given a classical notes to the lyrics particularly the way he ends before uttering “Kal ho naa ho” at the end of each paragraph is excellent.
Then the second place goes to Alka yagnik. “Kuch to hua hai” song sounds good with her voice.
Then Shankar mahadevan is too good in singing dance numbers and yet again he has proved in the song “Pretty woman”. In the song “maahi ve” the way he delivers the lines “jing maahive …everybody say” pulls our nerves to dance.
And vasuntra das with a seductive voice has sung well the song “It’s the time to disco”.
And all other singers have done their job well.
You:????????????????
Me :Which song you liked the most in this album?
Myself: My ranking will be
1) Kal ho naa ho happy version (Undoubtedly)
2) Kal ho naa ho instrumental (Not in the cassette)
3) Pretty woman
4) Kuch to hua hai
5) Maahi ve
6) Sad version of KHNH
7) Its the time to disco
You:??????
Me: You have given Pretty woman the third place .It is copied version.
Myself: What if? Any way they have copied with proper rights. Moreover, I haven’t heard the original version and so I like this song very much. I could not stop dancing for this song. Excellent westernized Punjabi and sung well by Shankar.
You:???????
Me: Also mild taal’s in the KHNH song sounds like that in the “Ek ladki ko dekha to” song .The richa sharma’s part in the sad version reminds me “thuje yaad na meri aaye kisi se ab kya kehna” of KKHH.
Myself: What if? Nothing is new in this world. Everything has been done by someone already. We are just repeating and reproducing the things in different forms to suit the period and trend(like this review). You could not blame the music directors for such accidental similarities.
You:????????
Me: Hey did you notice that all the five songs have two punchy lines?
Myself: yeah that is true. Actually these lines pull you on first listening itself. These lines are repeated many times in the song to makes the song sound better and the each time the way they finally approach at these two lines at the end in each song is simply superb.
1)hard pal yeans……….
……………..Kal ho naa ho
2) Jingo amative sonic raja mashie
Everybody say sonic raja amative
3)it’s the time to disco
4)Kuch to hua hai
Kuch ho gaya hai
5)Pretty woman dekho dekho naa
Pretty woman thumb hi kaho naa
Me: What do you think about the instruments used in the songs?
Myself: I think this trio rely more on key board rather than natural instruments for dance numbers but definitely they have used instruments like flute, Guitar and piano well for the melodies.
The most liked instrument sounds are
Flute, guitar, piano and violin playing KHNH song in the instrumental version. All these instruments are well composed, arranged and conducted with heart beat at the background. It is just mind-blowing.
Flute is played Naveen and Rakesh chairasia(hey is he the relative of great flute player Hariprasad Chaurasia?)and they have done a great job in the instrumental and in all the melodies.
Guitar is played well by one among the trio Ehsaan and the Keyboard by Shankar and loy.
You:????????
Me: What do you think about this trio music director Shakar-Ehsaan-Loy?
Myself: I have some of their albums “Mission Kashmir”, ”Armaan”, ”Dil chahtha hai”, ”Abbay” and now “KHNH”. As of now, I place them second next to A.R.Rahman in Hindi film music. They have their own style of scoring. The album that impressed me much before was “Dil chahtha hai”. Such a great album with full of fresh tunes and sounds. They have lot of potential in them and I feel directors can extract better and best music ever from them. Great going expecting more such works from them.
You:????????
Me: Hey you didn’t mention anything about Lyrics?
Myself: Caught.Hey I can understand Hindi only up to some extent and hence I cannot appreciate the language used in the https://lyrics. But I have heard a lot about the lyric writer Javeed Akthar who is four time national award winner for best lyrics and I hope that lyrics are good. I feel “Music has no language and Music itself is a language”. And also I feel a good lyrics has a unique pleasant sound and that tells the quality of the https://lyrics.
You:??????????
Me+Myself: Hope you will fill “You:???????” part in comments section and join us in this chat about this nice album.
