Kalank is a classic example of a movie where you have outstanding star cast & there is no story.., , Rather I will say multiple stories.
There i4 luv stories, partition story, communal story, Amir-Garib story, revenge story, Heera Mandi story etc etc etc
It would have been better if there would have been not more than 2 story tracks.
Lets begin with the good things:-
Its a grand movie, sets, costumes everything so magnificent.
Star cast, you cant get a better cast than tbis one.

Aditya - Sonakshi love story (only good love story out of 4)
The movie is predominantly focused upon Varun-Alia and that’s a very bad part. Makes a spl movie below average.
Besides storyline movie is weak on many other fronts which could have been better:-
Editing, its a too long movie, just like the story editor wanted to show everything as he if didn’t know the subject. The length specially 2nd 1/2 could have been reduced by 20 -30 mins
Madhuri’s make-up. Horribly wrong. Her wig was so inappropriate
Dialogue & screenplay
Music & song were ordinary & definitely not Madhuri movie type
There was so much hype around Madhuri & Baba but in there 10-15 mins role in the movie they had only 30 sec scene together. Which is such a let down.
In the end Alia had a question for the audience, my 8 yrs old nephew replied if the movie’s name is Kalank then so be it! Simple.
Go & watch only if you are anyone’s fan.
I did it only for Madhuri Dixit Nene....
