Are we justified in considering sex as a taboo ? this review is not about the movie but the very title itself .
before I begin lets just open up our minds . sex is a very basic human need . it is mainly considered shameful to talk about the subject in a country which is the worlds fastest growing population , needless to say is indulging in the activity very enthusiastically .
India was the land of the kamasutra , where people used to be so open and liberal . in ancient India women used to roam topless . the paintings of those times depict the otherwise scanty clothes they wore sometimes. Our ancestors have actually build the Khajuraho temples which celebrate the erotic imagination of the people of that time . it is surprising , are we living in the same country or our culture has been transferred to europe and america .
Why are the youth going western ?
valentines day every year is greeted by protests in the country against the celebration of love . the reason being - it brings about western influences to the youth . why are our youth running towards the west ?
because on our way to growing as a society we have become so sanitised that we have forgotten our own human nature , the importance of the most powerful thing in the world after food is totally ignored by our society . thats what the youngsters carve for at this age (like it or not) , the western influence is just filling the void . instead of condemning the west we should promote our own culture - which is long forgotten .( what do the chauvnists have to say here ? )
Mirror Mirror on the wall ..
lets attempt a simple question . how many of us would consider the bollywood heroines exposing vulgar ? and the same us , how many are fans of heroines in hollywood who have not just shown it all but done it all on screen (ofcourse it is censored in india ). isnt it ironic on our parts , to condemn one and laud another when they are the same species of human beings .
The dark sides ..
Shakti kapoor recently made headlines . there was a huge outcry just because he tried to seduce a girl who was already trying to lure him to make the whole operation successful . Werent we all concerned about the episode? there was no rape , no abuse .
And do we even give a sneak peak to the evils of our society like dowry death ? oh no they are daily news , common in our country . there is more than one dowry death every day in the regional hospital with 100% burns . leave away making any news or raising any cry , we just comfort ourselves with the fact that NGO’s or social agencies would take care of that .

we are moving into a completely different way of living than was 50 years ago . 50 yrs ago children were married as soon as they reach puberty . today those very young people are struggling hard to be financially settled in their most reproductive years . I dont justify child marriage here 18 yrs age limit for sex is fine . but oh come on . why do we still peek our nose at what kind of relationship adults might have ?
Sex is not an evil , having sex doesnt make you impure but on the contary it can be one of the most wonderful and purest experience of our lifetime , time and again. Its just an expression of love . The western culture is just filling the void created by absence of sex in our society .
whether each of us should choose to live a life of ignorance , closed minds or open up to be more liberal is a choice we have to make for ourself .
