I had a chance to stay in Kamat Yatri Nivas for 3 days recently. Though the hotel charges are above average, the rooms are not in great shape. The beds and the curtains need some face lift. The number of channels that you get on that 14 inch TV is ok. The bathrooms were not very clean. Though they say that they do clean the room and bathrooms everyday, it was not quite visible. The rooms defnitely need some painting. For all the money that you are paying, you as if you are staying in one of those cheap hotels that are in the surrounding area. The best part was the service and the complementory breakfast. The break fast is unlimited and you have a wonderful variety. From south indian dosas to continental. The quality of food is as good as any Udupi hotel. Also since the hotel is located in heart of the city commute to other places is easy. The receptionist and room service people were good and quite efficient. They also have a locker facility where in you can keep your valuables. The restuarant is kind of ok. Since I love north karnataka food, I did dine here every day of my stay.
