Akshay All The Way

After a very long time I got the opportunity to watch a film on day one. I watch movies for entertainment & don’t think much while watching leave your brains at home stuff, as I have a feeling I might miss the fun.

Yes, watching Gandhi, Gandhi My father, Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara, A Wednesday, Delhi 6, Black, etc was a different experience as it drove me to a different world, where thinking is a part of film watching, as it helps to understand the film better.

I am neither a professional film critic nor I have a huge fan following who will agree to my take on the film & will either rush to a theater near by after reading my review or will keep themselves away from watching the film & save some money.

My review is nothing but my personal opinion about the film, as I saw it, to which not necessary that everyone will agree.

Any Akshay Kumar’s movie, which is about to release creates a stir among the movie lovers, which speaks volume about the success of the actor.

Aftab Shivdasani gets married to Amrita Arora. Akshay doesn’t like the marriage, so does Kareena & both have their reasons behind it.

Kareena fine tuning Amrita to keep Aftab away from her. Akshay attempting to bring Aftab & Amrita together has various encounters with Kareena.

The rest of the story has been narrated in all the reviews.

Kambakkht Ishq is like a beautiful body with half a soul or a handsomeman with a damaged backbone, which is the basic reason why the film doesn’t stays erect. The debutant director is handicapped by the script, which looks like the combination of four writers got spoiled.

But despite of this flaw the film does have the positives.

It has breath taking stunts never seen before on Bollywood screen with superb background score & Akshay does excel in the scenes. May be he should opt for an out & out action film in the near future.

The scene between Akshay & Boman Irani. Does it make sense? NO. Is it logical? NO. It was there to make us laugh & it did succeed in doing so. Didn’t it? YES.

The scene when Akshay is discharged from hospital & Kareena realises that her watch is left in his stomach. Also the hospital scenes.

We do get glimpses of Hollywood stars, you name it & they are there. Top class photography (10 on 10).

Kiron Kher in a small role is good. She has always done justice to the roles given to her. Javed Jaffery was loud. Boman Irani passable. Aftab & Amrita were ok.

Kareen Kapoor looks gorgeous & has done a wonderful job in the film.

But the film belongs to Akshay Kumar who gave one of his finest performance in the film. I don’t think he is getting type cast. He is in form with his well timed one liners. Looks hurt when rejected by Kareena. Breathes fire in action scenes. And above all despite a weak script makes a successful attempt to carry the film on his shoulders, which needs to be applauded.

I wish I had watched the film to find as many flaws as I can but since I went for entertainment, I was entertained.
