this is undoubtedly a fantastic movie from debutant director k.v.anand. he has done miracles with camera eg; kannathil muthamittal. now he has played with his script.
kanna kanden should be appreciated for a different story line. good action and expression from the characters and a very handsome lovable villain.
the plot starts off with desalination of seawater and bypasses through all that kandhu vatti , etc and gives a happy ending. Srikanth an ambitious student wants to put his project of desalination into action.for that he requires 80 lakhs .amidst he falls in love with petite friend gobika and marries her. gopika seeks the assistance of madan for getting a heavy loan. looking at his appearance and gently behaviour the couples are happy and trusts him blindly on loan. but madan is fox at heart and is similar to shylock in ’merchant of venice’ master piece shakespeare. Srikanth finds it out but cldnt defend nor offend mathan and feel defeated but finally manipulates and succeeds in his project and also madan .
first kudos go to kv anand for taking a different story line untouched by many directors. he shd be really daring for selecting new story and new villain and surprisingly succeeded it to some extent.
second credit goes to handsome looking prithviraj as madan villain who is cruel and shows his villaneous act by soft dialogues and sharp actions. he acts well, brings out the emotion, strong dialog delivery , infact he dances well.he resembles surya in some angle.its a real break for us to watch a nice realistic villain without any body gurads or weapons , awry look....there is no snake or dangerous music whenever they show madan. he has a cool smile and the way he handles srikanth when he brings police inspector ’hey! gimme a break yaar’ is fantastic. he defntly has good fortunes at his end.
third credit goes to dialgues by suba , a famous writer. all his dialogues are crisp and sharp and noteworthy. and sensual.nothing is overboard, loud , lengthy or irrelevant.
srikanth has given a good performance and suits the role of a angry young man and a romantic hubby to his wife. he fits like a ’T’ . he brings out the emotions with a captivating smile and has a good body language.his stunts are also fiersome. the way he brings down madan is noteworthy.
gopika is also sweet looking but she is stupid enough to do abortion in fear of madhan. she is not very glamorous but stunnigly beautiful.
viveks commedy is not impressive and crude at some places. vidyasagars music is good blended with vairamuthus lyrics in china chinna sigarangal.
worth watching for different story line and depiction of maximum emotion and characterisation.
