Kanda Naal Mudhal directed by Priya.V and produced by Prakash Raj is a cool movie that makes you feel the lighter side of the life. The screenplay and direction of the movie gives a pinch of freshness to the characters that stick to them till the end of the movie.
The movie has a lot of signs of Maniratnam style characters.Probably The director who was the assistant director of Mani, couldnt avoid his influence. But that was not a negative. The film has a deep smell of freshness throughout etched very well by the performances of Prasanna, Laila and Kartik.Every character revolving around in the film has a hand of improtance in the screenplay.Be it Lailas Mom, Revathi, Prassanas sister, Devadharshini or Kartiks Mom, Lakshmi.Even Lailas Sister character has an important role to play.
The lightness of the movie is enriched by the cinematography by P.C.Sreeram.The film starts of with a quarrel between young Prasanna and Laila and the flow is unending from there. The film has a very few drops if someone needs them. The storyline in the ending is quite predictable and at times too stretchy at the end.But that doesnt deviate the storyline or the pace.
Coming to the soundtrack of the film, the music just sticks well to the movie, but what I personally felt was it could have been a bit better.Especially the rap song.Yuvan shankar raja has done his part well, but couldve added more variety.Maerkaey, Koo Koo ena and Panithuli songs stand out.
Prakash Raj seems to have nothing to lose in terms of his production and once again succeeds in making a different and light film that can entertain from top to bottom.Kanda Naal Mudhal is a very fresh movie on a lighter side of life.
